Hey there , looking to order this custom build at the start of March for around £1000. I know a decent amount about components and I’m primarily going to use this rig for gaming and streaming and I’m wondering if there’s anything that needs to be adjusted? Final thing for drivers , I read about somewhere that I have to update them through the pcs site but I’m not so sure about that. Can I just do it through the system or the designated nvidia site? Cheers

If your budget can stretch a little further you can get a more balanced build. Main changes are to motherboard, storage and PSU, plus silver warranty for a fiver.

Think the Bullguard shows up as default but drop it anyway, can cause problems and Windows Defender is as good as anything and free.

I’ve seen people complain about BullGuard lowering their PC performances, so I’d remove that if I were you. As the other guy said, windows defender is a lot more efficient and its free. Other than that, PC is solid. If you want to upgrade in the future, I’d suggest a bigger PSU (atleast 750-850W).

The standard AMD cooler is adequate to cool a 3600, if you want better cooling a relatively cheap solution is to get the MX-4 paste which should drop temps by a noticeable level.

The GPU should be fine temperature wise, the case you’ve chosen has good airflow so the GPU should be able to take care of itself.

Sorry to butt in but that statement is a little misleading, thermal paste is simply a conductive medium and it’s not appropriate to say that it will lower temperatures. At best it’ll make a difference of three to six degrees.

So by that rationale...

For us desktop system users, standard thermal paste will do the job 99.9% of the time. We have a choice of case and cooler to optimise airflow for our benefit. It tends to be the laptop geeks that’ll reap the rewards of not only a change of paste, but the correct application of it.

Honestly, I think a 3-6 degree difference more than enough to warrant the use of a good aftermarket one over a stock one.

It’ll vary depending on the system, as mentioned.

I just felt it was necessary to correct you on saying that the paste would ‘drop temperatures by a noticeable level’, that statement is bordering on misinformation.
