Never done this before, so i'm definitely in need of some help.
I stream ffxiv/eso and other similar games, would like to be able to play them on higher settings. got a budget of around £3k which needs to include 2 monitors. I have the other peripherals. Any advice would be massively appreciated.
Thanks!

Give this a read and come back to us with answers to the questions it raises

sorry, I thought I had specified what I could underneath the specs...

For clarification:
Monitors - i'd like 2, 24-27 inch size wise, and as high res as possible - they'd need to be included in the purchase - the ones i've chosen was what looked like they'd do the trick, but advice on them would also be helpful.
Uses: streaming and playing MMOs mostly, along with your average amount of video editing. I'd like to be able to play my games on as maximum settings as possible, while also streaming. idk what else to put here?
Budget - as I said earlier, but also to clarify... including 2 monitors I'm looking at an absolute maximum of £3300, though I'd prefer it to be around the 3k mark.

Is that the info you needed? I'm not sure what else after reading the post you shared that I didn't do already. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Can you include the config link from teh bottom of the page you copied across, makes alteration suggestions a lot easier and also means we can see what monitor res etc rather than having to google it.

3K budget with two monitors would kinda place you top end 1440p or middle ish 4K (assuming both monitors are the same)
Have you thought about a main monitor and a side monitor, if the second is for streaming/discord display etc, or perhaps a single ultrawide monitor instead?

MrWilson

Godlike
Some good points made above about monitors. Looking at a single ultrawide display, or a dual monitor display are both valid options. What I would categorically not recommend is going for the Ilyama monitors. They are TN panels, which have poor contrast, image quality and viewing angles. They are a panel type that is really only relevant for super high refresh, low input lag competitive e-sport play by top tier professionals.
For streaming I would either recommend a main 1440p screen and then a basic 1080p or 1440p 60hz as your secondary screen, or you could opt for a single Ultrawide screen. This would be the height of a 27 inch 1440p screen but come with a third of extra width as well, in a 21:9 ratio against the industry standard 16:9. The only use case I could see for having a high refresh second screen would be if you were playing multiple accounts concurrently as I know that can happen in MMO titles.
Plenty of budget spare, so we can explore a lot of options, and work out what's optimal for you. :)

Intel Spec and explanation:
Case
CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Coolermaster case selected is a good case, but does not support 280mm radiator which I would recommend for the 5900X or 12700K
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 12-Core Processor i7-12700K (3.6GHz) 25MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (4 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR MMOs you have listed are not hugely graphically intensive. The 3060ti will handle them comfortably at 1440p on high settings.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W) Super fast primary OS drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) We would recommend having games on a separate drive so that they don't need to be reinstalled in case your drive needs an update or gets corrupted. With Direct Storage coming into effect and with regards to your budget opting for a Gen 4 drive here is definitely an option.
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE

(Waffled too much, this spec is getting split in 2 :ROFLMAO:)

Warranty
3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) Silver warranty is where I would land. Any hardware faults are most likely to happen within the first 12 months. It is your purchase though, so while I would recommend silver as a minimum, if you want to upgrade to gold or platinum it won't do any harm.
Home installation is not needed. It will come ready to go, just needing to unbox it and plug everything in, and then running some updates and downloading the appropriate drivers.

P.S The capture card is not needed. The capture card comes only into play when you are streaming from Console to PC, or if you are streaming your PC gameplay onto a secondary PC to stream it. If you are gaming on PC the 5900X or 12700k has enough oomph to game and stream simultaneously.

Have edited to add the config link!
re monitors, that's a very good point, I'd rather have one really decent for gaming and as you said, a secondary would be for streaming//discord/vtube program, so it doesn't need to be as top end as that. I'd rather stick to 2 monitors though, I tend to have them slightly separated with my cam in between due to space.

wow thank you so much for taking the time to respond! And yes you're right, i was considering streaming from a console at some point but honestly it's not really a must have. What would you suggest is the best possible build I could get for longevity? Would a faster 4k monitor be possible, alongside a smaller 60hz 1080 for the streaming software etc? and good point re the home installation. I would *like* to be able to play more graphic intensive games like cyberpunk, horizon zero dawn and such. I've not been able to play them at all!
Thanks again for your input!

So “longevity” is a bit of a touchier subject, as we are getting new CPU and GPU releases later this year, which will beat out anything I spec for you today.
But if you don’t want to wait another 3-4 months (which I can fully respect) the build doesn’t need much changed. To handle 4K, and more graphically demanding titles at 4K, we can up the GPU to the 10GB 3080. There are more powerful options here, but they come with vastly worse price to performance, and as mentioned will be eclipsed by the latest gen AMD and Nvidia GPUs coming later this year.
The Gigabyte M28U is going to be your best bet for entry level 4K gaming, it can be had for around £620 on Curry’s or other sites. There are some more premium options but I am wary that shooting for 4K means we are already pushing the £3k budget!

As for timing, the latest I can put it off is till mid september, as my son's birthday present is going to be my previous PC, set up etc while he's away. Would the new release components not be a lot pricier? and will they really make that much of a difference, if I hold off?

By all accounts the jump is going to be significant especially in the CPU's and GPU generations are always a good bump in performance

Now that said there's no reason the above still wouldn't last 7-10 years with appropriate care and upgrades it's just the new tech is approaching rapidly at this point so it's more of a personal call for yourself

Essentially your 3080 will offer similar performance to a 4070 if previous generations are anything to go by

For example I went with a 3060Ti which now offers similar performance to the 2080 or 2070 Super but it was significantly cheaper

so you're paying premium for one of the flagships of this gen which will drop a tier or two in the next gen
