Is it possible to install an SSD reletively easy on the Vortex III? I was planning on getting the 750gb wd black scorpio and then when it comes installing one of my intel 830 ssds in there.

If you mean adding a second drive and not just replacing the old drive, the Vortex III 15.6" has only one chassis hard drive bay,so you would need to use the optical (DVD) drive bay using a caddy.
The Vortex III 17.3" has two chassis hard drive bays but it may be necessary to open the laptop to access the second bay, and not just a matter of taking a small plate of the back,i'm not certain about that though.

:/ What i saw from the pictures of the vortex 3 is that the case is easily removable. So i can't just install an ssd?

You can add an SSD or second hard dive to the spare bay in the chassis of the Vortex III 17.3 ,I'm just not sure how easily accessible it is.

Took me 5 minutes to pop in a SSD into my vortex 3 17.3" in the primary hdd compartment according to the picture mentioned above

Couldnt really be any easier :)

Id depends on the chassis size you choose.

15.6" can only take on HDD without sacrificing the ODD.
17.3" can take two, primary is under the ODD, secondary is labeled number 4 on this image 11_big.jpg If you order a laptop with one HDD we will install the HDD you order under the ODD so fitting your SSD is easy just unscrew panel 4. Attach the seperate HDD shield and slide it in!
