Speccing a new gaming pc

Hi there,

I have no experience with PC gaming only ever ps5 or earlier models. Looking to create a games room in the new house with a good gaming set up. Games would mainly be COD, Fifa and the new gta when it arrives.

any help would be appreciated. I’ve messed around with the configurations but end up running into trouble with conflicting items.

in terms of budget I’d be looking to stay under the 4k mark incl VAT. I can move if needed but I’m not a constant gamer, more just recreational.

Looking for full set up including monitor, controller etc

any help is appreciated 😀

For such a large budget, here's my recommendation for a high-end gaming PC.
N.B. The 7800X3D is a placeholder; the 9800X3D will be available at the end of this month.

There are some sub-optimal choices there, but we’d need to know you max budget, monitor resolution/refresh rate and whether there are any other heavy uses other than gaming.

I will be looking at a 240HZ monitor, something along the lines of this one


This will be solely used for gaming, i already have a set up for work which is pretty basic but does what is needed.

Maximum budget for PC Setup & Monitor will be around 3.5k
