Sons XMAS present won’t power up at all.

Unboxed Christmas morning followed instructions. Plugged in, switched on at rear, white LED internally lights up for less than a second. Then nothing, power button on top of case pressed and nothing. No sounds no lights nothing. All connected peripherals with their own led lighting ie. keyboard and mouse do light up.
I have tried a second power cable and a different socket completely. Nothing appears to be obviously loose inside the case.
The white LED inside the case only comes on again if you remove power and wait a while before attaching power again.

Open it up and check that everything is fully seated (pop cards out and back in). Stuff does move in transit. We posted a thread a couple of weeks before Christmas Day to help avoid these problems, it's at https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/christmas-day-help-tips.75831/.

Why would you wait until Christmas Day to unbox it for goodness sake? A wiser person would have checked that it was working as soon as it arrived - and then reboxed it.

I was on to tech support but got cut off and now can’t get back in contact. Aaaaaahhhhh!!
Have you tried making sure all the cards are properly seated as I advised? Check all the connectors too, especially the big ones going into the motherboard.

Thanks for the criticism that seems to have really helped.... merry Christmas 🎄
I had already seen the email and have been in contact with tech support but got cut off and now can’t get back in touch. So still no resolution to the issue. Guess I will have to send it back but can’t speak to anyone to organise that either 😕

Yes I did that while on to tech support before being cut off.

I did see a case somewhere on here the other day where the plug on the back of the case power switch had come disconnected in transit, so might be worth checking that

Does the fan for the PSU come on at all ?

it’s worth checking the main PSU plugs are firmly seated on the motherboard.

Also if you are returning it, I would be really tempted to upgrade your PSU to a 750w (even 650w would be better) Tmx Gold.

No no fan, no beeps, the brushed steel eagle casing internally lights up momentarily then nothing. That is before you press the power button on top of the case that has no effect

Looks like it’s a send it back situation.

if there are no obvious cables disconnected and all fitted correctly, then it pays not to mess around too much.
