Slow laptop, slow support

Thanks you all again.

An update:

I followed Stephen's advice and opened the case. I couldn't see any loose wires or components. I checked that the memory cards weren't loose and that there were no disconnected wires. Then closed the case.

I performed a clean install of Windows, then ran Windows update until there were no further updates (which took all day yesterday, hence the delay in reporting back).

I downloaded Driver Genius Platinum and updated all drivers.

I logged into my account on PCS however there were no drivers for download and no control centre software for download.

The laptop still runs horribly slow.

PCS still haven't responded to my technical support request and still have more than an hour wait time for phone support.

My next step is to return it as it is not fit for purpose.

Thanks again for all your help.

You're doing it wrong... those driver "geniuses" should be avoided as they can install drivers that were not meant for your specific device. And regarding the drivers, all users that bought the device from PCS will have the downloads section, like below:

You haven't installed windows correctly, there are a couple of issues.

Did you delete all existing partitions on the system drive before installation?

If updating windows took all day, you can't be using the latest build, which will cause issue as you'll be doing upgrades in place. You need to download the latest image from here:

Then as above, you should never use any "driver optimiser", they are at best utter garbage and at worst malware.

You just need to run windows updates until all drivers have been installed, then if there are any left in device manager, manually install them from your PCS main account downloads section.

And most important of all, don't forget to install control center (or gaming center, whatever it's called) from PCS's driver download page.
