There are some areas where you're over-spending/over-speccing (e.g. CPU & motherboard), and others that could be improved (e.g. PSU, cooler, and maybe drive config, and definitely remove Norton).

Could you tell us what specific games you're interested in (so we know whether raster or ray-tracing is more important), along with any other usage this machine will see...would tell us if the 7900XTX or 4080/Super would be a better match.

Also, can you tell us what monitor - make & model, or resolution & refresh rate - so that we can match the GPU to the monitor.

Hi thanks for the reply the monitor will be a new one as my existing ones are about 8 years old. Have you any recommendations. At the moment games like City Skylines 2, Transport fever, Manor lords when it comes out. Also older games like Xcom2 and Outer worlds when in the mood.

That's a 4k machine, wouldn't be any benefit for 1440p as the monitor would bottleneck it.

Assuming ultra-wide 1440p (3440x1440) or 4k then this would be a good start, and gives you a better balance of drives...and gives you a bit of budget back towards a new monitor.

Depends on what games you play, as a good number of modern games are over 100GB installed, so that could quickly eat into your 1TB m.2...and the 2TB is only £40 more.

If you're looking for savings to go towards a monitor, then there's also the option of reducing your RAM to 32GB as you've not mentioned anything specific that needs 64GB RAM.

Depends on what games you play, as a good number of modern games are over 100GB installed, so that could quickly eat into your 1TB m.2...and the 2TB is only £40 more.

If you're looking for savings to go towards a monitor, then there's also the option of reducing your RAM to 32GB as you've not mentioned anything specific that needs 64GB RAM.

You don’t need 64Gb RAM, 2x 16gb of 6000mhz is perfect for gaming.

Any more than that won’t improve performance in any way, just will never be used.

Thanks SpyderTracks I have ordered with the 32gb Ram @ 6000mhz. Thanks to yours and Tonys help I have ended up with a monitor as well for the same price as my initial choices.
