hi end gaming like total war/ editing for work mate

i have 1440 panel 144hz

an extra 500 on top of said build
The GPU is overpowered for 1440p, won't give any benefit over a 2070 Super.

For gaming the 3900x will give just as good performance, but will give more like double the performance for editing workloads.

This is the AMD equivalent, would destroy the 9900k build:

Ive already got a 1080ti and i7 6700k that im giveing to my son. 16gb of ram.

i run games like modern warfare, bfv and total war three kingdoms. bfv and three kingdoms use more cores so thats why i opted for that cpu.
and im trying to not bottleneck any hardware.

ive need used amd that good?

its a g synch lg 1440 144hz

on modern warfare i currently have too downgrade the graphics as 1080ti cannot give me more than 90fps which in turn messes with setup

BF is pretty poorly optimised, I can see why you need the extra power in the GPU.

But I would use the 1080ti until the 3000 series are released as they're set to give a massive power increase at lower budget, so rather than the 2080ti, I'd suggest waiting for the 3080 which would cost less but more power.
