Setting app keep crashing after update to windows

I received my new nova laptop today, and after having set up everything (just needed to download a few more games), I updated Windows. After updating can I no longer open the setting app. It pops up with the blu screen with the settings icon for a few seconds, before closing (I inserted the screenshot). I dont get to the point where I could choose to change time or screen setting etc.. It worked before the update, so I assume It has something to do with it. before the update the search funktion in Explorer ( the map icon one) nor after I pushed the windows key/ tapped in the search bar beside the windows icon (this is why I updated). I've tried to restart a few times , without any luck.
Anyone have any advise?

I contacted PCspecialist over mail a bit before posting this, but they are closed atm, so thought I might get a faster responds here.

Thank you in advance.

Usually happens when you have a corrupt user account, 2 fixes re register the appX files, or create a new user and delete the old one, try first option first.

Right click the windows logo, select Powershell (admin)

Type or copy and paste below

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name windows.immersivecontrolpanel | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

Let that run, might see a couple of errors, that's OK for the main part, once it's done, type shutdown -r -t 0

The machine will reboot, let us know how you get on.

Didn't work. Boots up like it would do after just shuting it down.

Which Windows update was is (post the KB number)?

Have you tried restoring the update to see whether the problem is resolved?

I didn't pay attention to the KB number tbh. Is there a way for me to check/ restore without having to go into setting?

I think it took about 5 min, and took 2 reboots.
That sounds like the upgrade to version 2004. If you enter winver into the Run command box what version does it show?

If it's 2004 then you've had a not uncommon glitch during the upgrade.

The usual way to back it out is via Settings. Since you can't get into that boot the Windows install media, select Repair My Computer, and use the Sytem Restore option in there to remove KB4557957. That the upgrade to 2004.

Not the 2004 upgrade then but perhaps the 1909 upgrade? I don't suppose you know what version you were on?

Either way, I would boot the Windows install media. You'll see a Repair my computer menu item at the bottom left, so click that.

Off the top of my head I can't remember where System Restore is in there but you should be able to find it.

Ryn System Restore and restore to the most recent restore point. That will (should) remove whatever the latest update was.

You have little to lose because the only other way out of this is via a clean install of Windows.
