Price is fine, well within budget, but I believe with the 4080 super im better off going 4k, feel I’ve entered a wormhole now haha but once the monitor is done , the MB is back in stock 12/10 so im Good to go as of then
Personally I wouldn't bother with 4K. The improvement in sharpness just isn't worth it compared to what it costs in frame rate. Also, a 4K display would be 32", which may not be what you want?

The only reason not to pair a 4080 Super with a 1440p display is that it's not the best value for money. You get diminishing returns as the limit becomes the human eye. But this isn't a value for money build, really! So I'd feel comfortable doing it in order to get a really really good monitor and a graphics card that can drive it to its limit. Personally I don't think the argument for 4K is really that convincing.

By the way, you asked about motherboards. The more expensive motherboards add features (PCIe gen 5, more fast USB, more VRMs, maybe more M.2 ports, maybe faster networking) that probably aren't crucial to you. I'd probably get the Tuf X670E board in case PCIe5.0 becomes relevant in the lifespan of the PC, but I would also be very happy to say "go with the Tuf B650 board".

I love the AW2725DF you’ve recommended, very clean! Going to go with that one. This monitor means im okay to partner with the 4080 super is that right ? I can get the order all placed once the 7800X3D is back in stock, can’t wait

Hi all

after a long, patient wait wait I'm hoping I can finally order my new machine soon as when I originally started this thread the stock issues were crazy and then the new GPU's were expected so I was advised to wait so I'm hoping to get some final advice before being able to place order

I did buy the recommended monitor AW2725DF and am happily using that now and I have re built the spec as seen below

primary uses are gaming: WoW, Blops 6 (warzone), GTA 6 (when it lands) as well other AAA games all at highest possible settings 1440p

is the 5080 sufficient or should I just splash out on the 5090?

after looking at other posts and seeing others similar uses I hope I've built the best I can.

I know there's a lot of RGB with this build but its something ive always loved about custom pc's

set aside 4.5k for the budget

any help/advice is appreciated again as always, thank you

Build looks pretty good. I would definitely re-think the primary storage though as I wouldn't have a Samsung drive, I'm surprised that's where you've landed after looking at advice from other builds as we never recommend them. As the budget is there I would go with the superfast Crucial.

I wouldn't look past the 5080 to be honest. The 5090 isn't going to be worth it, it's only really if you want to get silly with the settings and pay an extra £1k for the privilege.

made some changes as decided on the Lian li case looks a lot more cleaner

upgraded the ram to dominator

and number of fans as I believe more are better for the ‘fish tank’?

finally time to order once the 5080 hits PCS tomorrow 🤞

thanks for all the help, makes making a big spending decision easier when reading up other builds and advice 😄

I would opt for the 360 Titan cooler over the LCD option. It's possible you can add the LCD screen later if you wanted. I think it's more important to have the 360mm rad on there than the LCD screen.

Rest looks spot on.

i know it sounds sad just really like the idea of the lcd screen haha, but if i can add that on later its a no brainer, ill get that swapped, as i understand performance > aesthetics xD

More-so with the 50 series cards. They don't exhaust heat anymore, by design, instead they pass through into the case. Not an issue where the airflow is good and a good AIO is in place, but you'll definitely want the CPU to be as cool as possible for performance. I think the 50 series will be the death of air coolers.

Cap is around £90. Just had a quick look and it seems compatible with all LINK pump heads:

seems pretty straight forward, will order this in advance

That's certainly true of the FE cards and it's how they're so tiny, but all the AIB cards seem to be pretty conventional (and therefore pretty massive).

Yeah that's a fair point actually. AIBs have gone more traditional :)

Wow, that's a lot of fans...just make sure you tweak the fan profiles so you're not over-pressurising the case and losing out on cooling efficiency at the expense of fan noise.
okay mate thank you, its what i put on the build config advice above so thought it was all good, will look into the profiles when i receive it

There's nothing wrong with it at all...it's just that iCUE profiles are a bit aggressive (they ramp up too quickly as they're based on the CPU temp instead of coolant temp) for these newer, more efficient CPUs.
