It does seem more expensive then elsewhere. I guess not that many people will be switching at that price. If I had a 3090 on order I would probably switch to the 3080 Ti though,Appears to be £1400
£1049 elsewhere.
£1423 to be precise. Bit of a moot point though as no-one will have any in stock anyway.Appears to be £1400
£1049 elsewhere.
i was tempted to switch, but the problem is threefold, A, i was already told that there is enough stock to cover my 3090 strix order, but i have to wait for workforce. B who knows when the watercooler will be available for 3080TI, so the wait time would be even longer. And C, every single person from 3080, if they upgrade they are put infront of me, cuz the wait longer, so not worth itIt does seem more expensive then elsewhere. I agree if it was the original suggested 999 then I think it would have been extremely popular, maybe they just dont want that and create another bottleneck Availability card.also the price of 3080ti is so stupid, that if money was not problem for me already to go for 3090, might as well stay with it, instead of having half the memory and slower clocks and less cores
The price of 3080TI makes no sense
Most likely an Anti scalper bot wasting the time of the scalpers to prevent them from selling it.£50,100.. amazing. Presumably a time waster?
I can only think that they are certainly Inglourious ............It didn't take too long for to sell out every where...
I tried my luck to get one at Scan but the bots snagged them all within seconds, no one even got to see a buy button or add to cart, so I've been entertained by watching all the rage and drama of the aftermath unfold on Scan's twitter page,
And as to be expected... the scalpers best friend...eBay.

The 3000 series has been a no go... I will play the waiting game and try again with the 4000 series.
Same. Gonna try for a base 3080 and skip the Ti. Although wish I could get a 2080Ti or something temporary (but even those are priced sky-high and PCS don't offer it) so i can at least game NOW until 3080 is more available. Seems only a 2060 SUPER is the only one stocked/available..Watched a few of the reviews im actually shocked how little of a performance increase it is over the standard 3080 just fees like a card that does not need to exsist ?
that is the point, it does not need to exist. 3090, 3080 and 3080 TI all use GA102 chip. Which means if the 3090 bin is not good, it would be made into 3080 by disabling some cores.Watched a few of the reviews im actually shocked how little of a performance increase it is over the standard 3080 just fees like a card that does not need to exsist ?
I had a niggling doubt when I got my 3080 hmmm maybe should of waited for the ti variant really glad I didnt nowthat is the point, it does not need to exist. 3090, 3080 and 3080 TI all use GA102 chip. Which means if the 3090 bin is not good, it would be made into 3080 by disabling some cores.
What Nvidia did now, seeing the market, is artificially created unnecessary product of 3080TI. Now they can sell the failed bin for much higher price, 70% extra price.
If the 3090 was GA102 and 3080 was GA104, it would make total sense, instead of throwing out not good 3090 bins, they made 3080TI as GA102 too.
This is how it worked in past. it made sense. 1070 and 1080 were GP104, Titan Pascal and 1080TI were GP102.
Same for Turing cards, Titan RTX and 2080TI were TU 102, 2070 and 2080 were TU104.
3080 TI is massive Cash Grab from NVIDIA!!
And this situation wont even help the market shortage, because they are not adding any extra GPU to the market, they are taking little bit better bins that would be 3080 and turning them to 3080TI to earn more money
Edit: And BTW, the 3070TI aint any better either. It is the same nonsense, instead of the GPU being failed GA102 3080 turned into 102 3070ti, it has the same codename as 3070, which is GA104. They literally created new product by turning the best of 3070, into tiniest bit better 3070TI, to grab 20% extra cash, unlike how xx70ti worked in past. That also explains why this time the better 3070 has miniscule extra performance, 2 extra cores only.
it is basically the same card with no differences outside of extra memory modules
