No real surprise really. I was holding out for it but the more time got on and the worse the availability got of the 30 series the more I feared the worst.

Nvidia have absolutely zero to gain from making a good product right now, they really don't. The bad publicity from the card won't even touch them right now.

They will have the S cards up their cuff in case they need to do something in the future.

Lets be honest its not worth it but pepole will be willing to pay the premium just feels so unnecessary to have somthing inbetween the 3080 and 3090 more looking forward to seeing the 3070ti

just wait for the 3070 TI benchmarks, now that gonna be dissapointing..... 2 GPU clusters and 2 RT cores more than 3070, doubt the faster ram will help anything. Performance gonna be barely higher than 3070 for 20% more money

Agree, the 3070 ti is a sore loser out of the box. Another cash grab

Yeah the 3070Ti is barely an improvement over the 3070 on paper I doubt it'll be worth much in terms of performance especially for the price tag

This really is AMD's market to take over at the minute, killing it in the CPU side and rapidly catching up in the GPU game. Next 5 years should be very interesting

I wanted a 3080 TUF OC for soooo long. I just checked Currys out of curiosity, who had it listed at £740 but out of stock. Just went in and it's now £940 and out of stock. Me thinks they are getting some in soon.......

Unbelievable greed going on just now.

also it is hash rate limited, which instantly devalues the card on purchase for any reselling value down the line

I can categorically state that this will change down the line. As soon as they have stock and want the sales, they'll issue an update or a patch to give you the option.

Just waiting to see what PCs are pricing these at!

To a layman, is someone able to clarify why PCs specifically shows the ASUS version of these cards separately, is it just the cost while all other 3P offerings are similar price? Are all the ASUS ROG Stirix cards liquid cooled?

the Asus versions are marginally better than other cards with the components, performance and cooling solution. But they are the priciest one too. For most users it does not matter which you choose, so it is not much worth paying extra

A good example is the Asus Strix 3090 vs other 3090s. That GPU is using high end parts and capacitors, it is not using those that were known to cause some issues. It has better power delivery, 3 6 pin connectors to deliver power. It has bios that allows up to 480W of power draw, in comparison Nvidia 3090FE has a stock power allowance of only 350W.

There is an MSI card that has also 3 6pin power pins, but i have seen a video that found out that the GPU is drawing max amount of WATTS from the PCIE slot itself, this does not really allow you to overclock it much, because it is already hitting quite limits due to the PCIE power draw, and thus it is unable to draw more power from the 3 6 pins. Strix does not have this issue, it draws from the 3 6 pins first, PCIE slot second, this in theory allows you to flash the BIOS to request even more power (other limits apply tho).

By default the strix card might be just 1% better than other cards, but it has potential to go further with tweaks and overclocks.

So TL;DR, asus strix cards have better components and potential for overclock. But they are costiest. This does not matter to 99% of people, because the will never overclock. You pay more, for marginal gains 2-3% maybe 5%, some people care, most dont

EDIT: also the strix card are well known to have one of the best coolers on them, beefy and powerful. Which allows you to run the card cooler and more silent, or to push it further with overclocks
