Hi Ghosthud, I'm only on 13 days pre-prod but having upgraded to the 3090 on Monday I didn't think my build had any stock issue (3950x CPU) and was just now waiting for the normal production queue. I have however selected this same 850W PSU. What would you suggest I change to so as to keep my build in the "green stock" status.

Should I just downgrade to a 750W semi-modular PSU (which is still in my power tolerances for the build) or is the better plan to go big?

You don’t want 750w for the 3090, I’d up it to the next tier up.

I just wish someone from PCS could explain why people with shorter waiting times are being allocated Strix 3080 and 5900X...

78 days waiting, if they allocated the Strix 3080 and 5900X seperately, I would of had it in building by now.
Unless of course the people saying that they are having their's built is trolling. Because customer chat just gives me the usual template response, it's not helpful.

You need to phone and speak with them to find out what’s holding the build up.

It could be anything literally the case might not be in stock or even the rgb lighting sadly 😂 just luck really.

After getting off the phone with PCS, it seems that I would essentially have to wait for both 5900X and Strix 3080 to be available; for my rig to go into building. As they have a very limited space to store parts, they cant allocate individual parts for one person. (This is specifically for pre-order parts)

So after switching from a 3080 to a 3090 to speed up my order I have managed to secure a gigabyte 3080 OC.
I will be cancelling my graphic card on monday.
Might seem a silly question but when i recieve my pc from PCS will all the cables to connect the graphic card be provided or will I have to purchase these myself?

All cables come with the PSU and any spares will be included in the welcome box

Your not wrong there. I’ve swapped my processor to one in stock to try speed things up. Unfortunately it looks like if I want my pc anytime soon I maybe changing the graphics aswell and buying the 3080 at a later date when it is back in stock.
Normally I’d be patient but having already waited 3 months (9th October I ordered) I’m a little sick of my laptop and it’s terrible FPS and just want something better 🙃
