Oh well no build email this morning, to get to the bonnie highlands for Crimbo it needs to go into build, testing and dispatch today....may be getting the big prize after all @SpyderTracks

Anyone have a rough estimate of how many have jumped ship from the ASUS 3080 to the standard 3080

if you're still waiting for the strix, the jumps won't help you until january/february sadly, that's when MAYBE they get a delivery. Not a nice thing to hear, but I was in the same boat
Yep I jumped ship after a phone call from PCS advising that it would be highly unlikely they will get any major deliveries of Strix until end of January at earliest more likely into February.....broke me heart that did lol
Even after moving to a standard 3080 over 3 weeks ago, I still have no idea who I'm getting my PC, and with lockdown coming after xmas, I'm guessing if they don't get it out today (2 days for me as in backwater) then I have no idea when I'll get it.
Was hopeful yesterday after Tove said it was waiting on a change of item due to stock issues, so changed that within a couple of hours of his email as it was causing the wait as everything else was there, still no build email, but clutching at the fact some have had the build, test and dispatched in one lump

The STRIX cards are expected in February, and apparently that’s being optimistic now.

I would be up for going for random 3080 but dont like the fact its random can see why they cant tell you what it would be as there sourcing it when and where they can was going for strix card but will wait till end of February to see if the fabled unicorn that is the 3080 20gb arrives

For anyone who is getting a build with the NZXT H511 MID-TOWER CASE and a 3080/3090. Here are two screenshots of different games giving different thermals.

I think regular 3090s are much more readily available than 3080s. Unless it's for something like specialist video editing, I would find it difficult to justify the extra cost. For gaming only, the extra cost did not seem like good value for me.

I don't have a reliable way of sourcing a 3080 externally and don't trust my luck. (I also don't have the money to really just go willy-nilly) so I'll be waiting as patiently as I can. I have a 1070 TI so I'm not super hard-up. But I would like to struggle less, and my artistic endeavours suffer atm quite a bit.

Go to your graphics card option.
Scroll to the very bottom, and select.
"None, I already have a graphics card"
