RTX 3070 Release

Just a quick question to confirm the RTX 3070 release time for custom builds on PCS? Just want to know as I will be working tomorrow, and could either order at midnight tonight or before work tomorrow.. (UK)

The worldwide official launch time is 2pm tomorrow. Although there are rumours that it could be 1pm in the UK due to the clocks going back. I’m going to be logging on at both times to check 😁

I guess I'll hijack this thread but I've just been looking at the benchmarks for the 3070 as I'm gaming at 1440p and I wonder if this would be adequate for my needs.

Looking at Hardware Unboxed review and its the same thing over and over it matches the 2080 TI, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a reduced price 2080ti when the 3070 releases?

I'm a bit confused about the Vram being 11GB on the old 2080ti but only 8GB on the 3070, surely for the same level of performance the lower GB vram would bottleneck the card?

The 2080ti was a £1300 card most places. It will never go below the price of the 3070.

The only option would be second hand, but even then I doubt you'd find it significantly under the 3070 price.

The VRAM has very little impact at 1440p, there will be no problems at all on the 3070 at 1440p.

Skip to about 20 minutes into that video I posted, the benchmarks show that the 3070 DLSS/ray tracing hasn't improved at all apparently.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised by that.... these are supposed to be a new generation of RT cores at a hardware level.

could it be down to the games using gen 1 RTX? Im not sure how that would matter, but different reviwer said something about SoTTR using gen 1 RTX so could that be it?

I'm debating swapping it out.... but then I also want to change to the new Ryzen CPU next week too and knowing my luck Nvidia will ship these cards and my build will complete with the old cpu :(

If I delay my dispatch can I change out the components around that time or will it still be built but just be held until that date?
