Replacement Chassis

I have had an accident with my 2020 laptop and the chassis needs replacing it is Lafité Series: Aluminium Chassis: 15.6" Matte Full HD IPS LED (1920 x 1080)
Does anybody know if I can get a replacement I live in Spain and it is difficult to reliably send the laptop back for PCSpecialist to carry out the repair. The last time I had to send a laptop back it went missing on its return to Spain and it took me nearly six months to trace where it went and I would prefer to avoid this happening again.
I can assemble the innards of my existing laptop into a new chassis

I don’t think PCS would be able to authorise you assembling the parts, and it may be expensive as will be out of warranty and the chassis included the motherboard and GPU

Bit you’d need to ask PCS themselves, none of us work for them and they don’t frequent the forums

PCS sent me this reply after offering me the usual RMA
"Good afternoon, upon further discussion with the relevant department, they have advised that we no longer have this case in stock and it is now at it's end of life. As we can not provide a replacement, it would be best to acquire this from a third part vendor.
Nowell".
I therefore asked
So if I had paid you £94 how could you repair the case if it's no longer a stock item
Could you give me details of the case so I could contact a third party vendor as I have no idea what reference the case has to find a third party vendor?
Thank you
Am still awaiting a reply, but cannot understand why they insisted on a RMA if the actually don't have the items anymore so how could they repair it?

Since PCSpecialist can't help, you should definitely push for the case details they mentioned. They might have part numbers or specs that will help you find a third-party vendor. In the meantime, search for similar chassis models online.

I have asked them but have received no response
This is the second laptop I have purchased through PSC both have had similar issues. As a result and due to what I consider to be poor customer service, I will not be purchasing my next laptop through them.
If I eventually get a response I will post on here

Is it possible to purchase a new case from any manufacture and install the innards of my existing laptop into it. This work will be carried out by a local laptop repair company?

Not something we can answer, normally the chassis includes the motherboard and GPU / CPU, you can’t buy it without those, so it will be around the same cost as a new laptop

Basically are you saying that as the hinges have broken away from the case and the case cannot be replaced I need a new laptop?
If so for nearly £1000 for my laptop I feel cheated if after less than 4 years the hinges break and all I can do is have to buy a new laptop.
And that's acceptable?

I can never understand how people break laptop hinges in normal use, and apparently you've done it to 2 laptops.

I used to work at a uni where the majority of staff had laptops & can't remember anyone breaking a hinge

I agree; I still have a PCS laptop (Defiance II) from 2016, which was used heavily until two years ago, and the chassis shows no signs of wear and tear or problems. (y)

I should clarify my first laptop it was an issue with the keyboard and pads and pcs did replace them but my laptop went missing during its return to me and it took a considerable time before I located it, but there was more damage to the case.
I am very careful how I open my laptop and always open it in the recommended manner, and it sits on a table rarely on my lap, but I guess it depends on how much you initially spend, I have an old HP laptop over 10 years old and the case is still in very good condition.
But glad others have not had issues with their laptops

Just an update
Have been sent laptop case details although I had already contacted Clevo but they don't have the bottom only the top case so am not sure what to do now
Guess I'll just get some gorilla tape and hold it together 😂

After sending my laptop back under the RMA it's now being returned to me with a refund of the RMA fee as PcS cannot obtain a new case and hinges as Clevo do not make the parts. PcS could not find alternative parts although I have spoken to Clevo direct and they told me what alternative parts I could use.
Really not impressed with PcS and their RMA sstem or their conflicting contradictory emails they sent me, which totally confused me.

Accidents happen when you have pets and young children!
But my issue is getting it repaired and it seems that although I can purchase a new and alternative top/bottom case direct through Clevo its the hinges that cannot be replaced as they are not manufactured anymore and there is no alternative to the original ones, so I am stuck with a very good laptop that I now cannot use.
It did go back under the RMA system but unfortunately it could not be repaired and PcS can not get the parts either, they returned my laptop to me and refunded the RMA fee, but now I am really stuck.
Has anybody got any suggestions other than purchase a new laptop please?

After my laptop was returned from RMA they had informed me that the parts for the repair were no longer available, and Clevo did not have any replacement parts to complete the repair PcS returned my RMA fee, however I am still unable to repair the laptop, so I am trying to locate the following spare parts for my laptop that needs repairing. Clevo Germany told me that the parts are no longer available but could not offer me any alternative parts to complete the repair.
These are the required parts for a Clevo N151CU laptop:-
HINGE L (SK7) N150ZU - 6-33-N15Z1-0L2
HINGE R (SK7) N150ZU - 6-33-N15Z1-0R2
TOP CASE MODULE N151ZU - 6-39-N15Z2-114
TOP CASE MODULE N150ZU - 6-39-N15Z2-013
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated. If there is any alternative to the above or any suggestions that will fit my requirements I would appreciate please?
regards
