Watched it from about half an hour in, so a good 2 hours of watching :D

Was brilliant, even the ascent. But when he just hopped off into essentially nothingness, I did get that funny feeling you get when you look over the edge of a high building...dread to think what his nether regions were doing at that point! :D

All in all, human endeavour and adventure was at play today, whatever else comes out of it :)

Aye it was pretty damn impressive, I'm sure there will be feeds / repeats up all over the shop soon.

Very impressive indeed! I was sitting watching from 3:45 (just prior to the ascent) it was a great feat of teamwork. Must have been tearing him up inside though, fear and exhilaration. I didn't notice any of his suit's footage when watching the live stream though so I hope that gets distributed eventually - that would be awesome to see.

I'd have got to the top and changed my mind... hahah

The bit that made my cojones leap up inside of me was when he was OUTSIDE the capsule holding on to the hand rails...then took one hand OFF to remove a strap or something...24 miles up and all that stopping him falling (as in by mistake) is ONE hand...nope...not ever ever :D

You wouldn't have got me up their in the first place :)

hahah well, me either really. I don't mind heights, but there are some things I just wont do.

I once agreed to go mountaineering in the French Alps when I was in the army, was the single most scary moment of my whole life. The three officers were crazy just wanting to get up Mont Blanc, even though only those three had done it before! The rest of us were complete novices. It was honestly like cliffhanger! One guy was being sick as we climbed/walked up steep slopes of Ice, most of us kept falling over, I ripped my trousers to pieces with the stupid ice boot thingys, I also kicked a sargeant in the head with my spiked boots, there was Crevasses everywhere, I'm not even exaggerating. It was horrible, surprised I didn't get PTSD. I will try and dig out a picture.

The picture below was a bottomless crevasse...

wanna try walking up that? the other side was a straight drop. On the side you can see lead you straight into the crevasse above...
