Recoil II issues - again - maybe software this time though.

Hello again! (again from my old laptop which seems more reliable)

So, just a quick catch up. My previous issues with the Recoil II and sudden power loss were resolved via RMA where they ended up replacing my motherboard and power cable because of a power delivery issue and cable burn out. I have had the laptop back for about a month with no issues... until the other day...

SO! About 3 days ago, for seemingly no reason, my Recoil II began to throw me a new problem.
A basic description is, I will be doing some fairly standard, I.e. browsing on firefox, deciding if I want to play a game on steam, watching a youtube video, or even idling on the desktop having not even opened a program. It can happen at seemingly any moment from 30 seconds after turning on, to about 12 hours uptime with no obvious trigger. It has happened 20+ times in the last 48 hours.

There is a short stutter and the screen will go black, the screen will flash on and off (black) intermittently every 5 - 10 seconds, sometimes I might catch a glimpse of my mouse in the middle of the screen. this goes on for anything from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes and the results in a BSOD (or it gets stuck in a loop of trying to use the display and I end up holding the power button to power it down). It's similar to if you were to plug it into a monitor or TV, and it flickers for a second as it works it out before displaying anything.

I have done a google of this and followed the solutions given by other people which haven't helped.
I have tried a system restore which didn't work and failed, to any previous point I had.
I tried updating the drivers for both Intel and Nvidia cards. Didn't work.
I then ended up wiping the laptop completely and reinstalling Windows 10, didn't work. (I think it auto downloaded drivers for everything)
I've gone via safemode and installed the latest drivers from Intels website, which didn't work.
I have tried untinstalling/removing any Intel software that has anything to do with graphics/display managament as well as drivers. Didn't help.

The only thing that has changed on my system prior to this starting was the intel control panel updated itself. - but again hasn't affected the other halves Recoil II...

So far the only solution where this doesn't seem to reoccur over a small time period is to disable the intel graphics 630 via device manager, but that isn't really a permanent solution because then I lose basic functionality like the ability to change screen resolution.

So, any ideas?

I would RMA it again. It sounds like a hardware fault to be honest. The complete installation rules out any software conflicts.

I may have to agree with you on that.
I have now tried all sorts of combinations of drivers from the same as the other recoil II, to the most up-to-date from both intel and nvidia, and the problem still persists with easily another 15 (probably more) BSODs as above since I made that post.
Again the only solution seems to be disabling the Intel UHD Graphics 630 via device manager and losing basic functionality.

I'll wait and see if any other suggestions or ideas pop up from people over the weekend, if not then I'll call PCS monday.

Change of plan. So I continued to try variations of drivers to no effect. From the most up-to-date to outdated ones. Even ones matching what my other halves laptop has. It had no effect and continued with the random BSODs. So I did another fresh installation of windows to eliminate some of the possibilities (as I had re-installed steam and some small games, because long download times were just getting interrupted constantly). Unfortunately this hasn't resolved the issue and has now left me unable to complete the windows 10 setup making the laptop unusable. So I will send them a message this evening requesting an RMA and update the threat with the outcome probably in a couple of weeks.

2 videos for evidence to PC specialist to help diagnose the problem. (It would have been 1 video but I have potato internet and a 10 minute video was going to take like 3 hours to upload)

I was just nosing through the forums looking for something completly unrelated and saw this thread-necro.

The issue was resolved following I think it was 2 or 3 RMAs all in all.

The issue on two occasions were similar, a burned out ribon cable relating somehow to the battery. the cable was replaced on the first one, the battery and the cable on the second one, and then i cant remember if I had a third RMA or not, but either the second or the third one the motherboard was also replaced and that seemed to solve the problem. Apparently there was scorching to the motherboard as well.

Following all that I have a fully functioning and workign laptop (although it returned with a broken turbofan button - but that's wasn't a deal breaker). I recall the whole thing taking something like 6 weeks of back and forth including waiting time and chasing up. The tech support via phone though was very good.
