Recoil 17 G-Sync

I'm considering ordering the Recoil 17 + Liquid Cooler, but it's not clear whether the laptop's screen has G-Sync. I know this machine is a Tongfang IDN unit also sold by XMG and Eluktronics, and can see on their websites that they advise it has G-Sync, but there's no confirmation on the PCS website. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks for your help.

You'd need to ask PCS for an official response, it's dependent on the actual panel being used.

Is it normally difficult to get a reliable response from PCS? I've never bought a system from them before, so have no prior experience of their support team, and I'm not having much luck with the team member who's responding to my query. He's trying to tell me the Recoil 17, a 17" laptop, uses the BoE NE160QDM-NZ1 V8.0, a 16" screen that does not have G-Sync. Whereas I have people on Reddit suggesting the PCS Support Team are a bit unreliable and they have had similar issues, and that the laptop actually uses the a 17" screen with model number BOE NE170QDM-NZ1, which does support G-Sync. I have asked the team member at PCS to check again but he seemed confused by this simple request.

It doesn't seem wise to trust the word of Reddit over PCS when asking about a product PCS sell, but the "support" PCS are providing hasn't been very convincing.

Like any support for any product it varies greatly on the person responding to your query. Sometimes it can be fantastic and someone who is really knowledgeable and sometimes it can be someone who knows less than you. I find the best way to get info is to pick up the phone and try to talk to someone with some technical knowledge

It's also that the panels change depending in available stocks at the time, so the model a person on reddit may have received may well be different with what's being used currently.

But I'd agree, it's unlikely to be a 16" panel being used in a 17" chassis

I got my 17" Recoil a couple days ago and sent it over for an RMA today but I can confirm it has a g-sync sticker on the panel

Thanks so much for confirming that, it does suggest all PCS models will have a GSync panel going forwards.

there is a very loud whine coming from the back of the laptop i'm assuming the DC port or the GPU when playing graphically demanding games, surprisingly it doesnt whine during benchmarks i did so they couldn't have caught it during QC
That's understandable. Are you going for a different laptop to replace it or the same model?

Im assuming the same, if you want some more thoughts, the laptop is good in general but the speaker quality is abysmal. I was actually surprised at how bad it is, my tablet and phone actually have better dual speakers than the laptop.

Other than that it's a good buy and the performance is stellar especially considering the price compared to similar specs.

Speakers will sound dreadful if windows isn't configured properly with the audio overlays, I notice you ordered without windows, just worth noting that.
