Realtek HD Audio Driver Issue

I was looking to get realtek audio manager on my laptop and ended up following multiple videos which caused my sound to stop working...

I did not create a restore point before doing any of this and I tried multiple realtek HD audio drivers and they aren't doing any sounds. I do not remember the actual version that was on the laptop and I tried to use the disc that was given with the laptop. I also tried to use the technical support download page on the PCSpecialist website.

All of the things I have tried has failed.

I don't know what to do... Can someone please help me?

I just want to get realtek hd audio driver back on the laptop with the sounds working.

- Create a restore point
- Download DDU then boot into safe mode
- Select Audio
- Realtek
- Clean and reinstall
- Enter windows normally and check for updates
- Windows should search for the Realtek Drivers for you

Or you could go to device manager and deleting the Realtek driver from there if you're not 100% sure or comfortable with the first steps

Alternatively, you could follow the first 4 steps and instead type in your chassiz name (usually a sticker underneath your laptop) in Google to see if the vendor offers drivers specifically for your laptop. I know clevo does that for the majority (if not then all) of their laptop chassiz which PCSpecialist tend to use for most of their laptops.

If you're not comfortable with any of these suggestions, it might even be worth just calling PCSpecialist on the phone and explaining the situation to them. They're usually pretty knowledgeable and help guide you step by step in real time.

Okay, so last night I decided to reinstall windows onto the laptop which ended up fixing my realtek audio drivers issue.

However now my soundblaster cinema 6 has stopped working. When I open the software it says that the audio device could not be found.

I tried to use the dvd disc that was given with the laptop where I tried to do a preinstall from that disc which reinstalled soundblaster cinema 6 but that did not solve the situation.

Is there any way to fix this?

In addition to posting your full specs, could you also post your model/chassis number from the label on the bottom of your laptop please.

Thanks.

This is the issue I am having now. I would like to fix this if possible because I enjoyed using the features that this had.

Can you open Windows Explorer, under the view option set it to display "hidden files" then navigate to the following location

C:\ProgramData\Creative\SoftwareLock

And post an image of the Files included there.

Also when you reinstalled Windows, did you just allow windows update to install the Realtek drivers, or did you get them from elsewhere and if so where.

The reason I am asking this is that standard Realtek drivers (even those from the Realtek site) don't always include the required DLL files to allow sound blaster cinema to work.

I tried to do that but there was no "Creative" folder.

aha that's why the software wouldn't work then. Happy that everything is sorted now after you installed the drivers recommended by Bhuna50.

Sorry can't help with the microphone issue, as I don't run that piece of software

i dont know sorry as dont have it - just trying to think through why it might be missing a feature (microphone).

Is your microphone spotted by Windows ok still?

Yeah microphone is detected and everything. It was there before but it seemed to have gone with the new installation. It's fine though, Thanks for the help.
