Hello all, recently configured a laptop and was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences with Samsung's 970 Evo M.2 NVMe ssds? I have looked at benchmarks and it states theoretical increases of 400% in read speed over traditional ssds but is there a noticeable difference in practice?

Thanks for the help.

The samsung is an M2 SSD. M2 is the modern form of SSD and they are on average around 7 times quicker than a normal SSD.

A normal SSD will get 550mbs, the samsung gets around 3200mbs.... major, major difference.

Basically the old SSD's are only used as storage drives or on very cheap builds, but generally avoided these days.
