Random Nvidia Driver Installer appeared.

Hi guys,

I went away from my desktop for about 30 minutes. Came back and windows was asking me to install a display driver but nobody was around to do this. Is this a random thing, virus or what?

Ignore right side of image. I have 2 monitors.

That is how the nvidia drivers are installed but suppose if you didn't download anything yourself it could be something malicious - do you have a nvidia gpu?

Do you have the specs for your PC from your order page?

If you use nvidia experience it'll assist with installing drivers but if not when you download a driver package from nvidia that is what it looks like when you open that file (downloaded from nvidia).

That wee 'extract' type box doesn't appear for me when installing drivers through experience?

Do you see them at all through Expereince?

Nor for me, everything is done in the experience GUI

I think this is the new DCH format, these are served by windows update, installed through the microsoft store

IMHO, best avoided, personally I would uninstall fully with DDU and install via the nvidia website.

I have a 4090 and I don’t have GeForce experience installed. A friend did mention it could have been windows wanting to install it but I’m not sure.

Uts being automatically updated by Windows update because you have the DCH driver installed rather than standard.
