R.I.P. David Lynch

Truly the end of an era, and what a wonderfully odd one at that.

The passing of the great David Lynch.

We need to call out @AgentCooper, although I'm sure he will have heard

And we need to put a rundown of his most famous movies and series

1977 Eraserhead
1980 The Elephant Man
1984 Dune
1986 Blue Velvet
1989 Twin Peaks movie
1989 to 1991 Twin Peaks series
1990 Wild at Heart
1992 Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
1997 Lost Highway
2001 Mullholland Drive
2017 Twin Peaks series continued

Those are only the ones that affected me deeply. Both Twin Peaks and Dune hit me seriously hard because they made me think outside the box in a way so few others had inspired me to. So damn strange and so revealing.

I'm not in any way sad, this man really was a living legend, a true creator and a visionary. The world would be a lot less weird without him and that would be a crying shame.

I followed him on twitter until I closed my account a month ago or so, he would regularly post really odd but upbeat little nuggets, just him in front of the camera with his musings.

Loved the man!

Well said, good sir. And honourable mentions to Inland Empire and The Straight Story, another two fantastic movies.

Without question, the most important director of our time, an accomplished artist and also a musician. A true auteur.

A little bit of my soul cracked and fell off when I read the news. But… I’m just glad we had him. The cinematic landscape would have been duller without him.

I think I’ll sign off this post with one of his more light-hearted cameos, it always makes me laugh.

I was gonna mention the music. His pairing with Angelo Badalamenti was timeless.

Very sad news, as other people have mentioned he was one of those directors who really thought outside the box.

When I was at secondary school Twin Peaks was quite popular, with people trying to work out what was going on!

I’ve only just found out how he died, due to lung cancer.

In case I came across mighty cold, I had no idea he was ill, what I meant by my comment is that he achieved so much in his life’s work, his legacy is too great to feel saddened by his loss.

I am sorry he didn’t go naturally, just hope he wasn’t suffering long.

I'll miss him
Dune was one of my favourite childhood movie ^^"
Really?

I came out the cinema cursing the fool for ruining the whole thing.

The sets were cast-offs from Flash Gordon and the cast were off in their roles - Sting fgs!!

The modern re-make is superior but still reduces the evvironmental message in the books to a sideshow - and turned Liet-Kynes into a woman, for good measure. Ye Gadz! how hard can it be?
They should've given the job to Peter Jackson.
