Problem With My Graphics Card (I think?)

6-8 Weeks seems excessive for a GPU replacement in my opinion, that's wild
If it was inside PCS warranty and direct from their stock and i would guess 6-8 days would be more like it. But I'm guessing they will need to start the RMA process with their supplier so won't issue a replacement until they have that confirmed rather than standing the warranty from their stock, that can only be the explanation for such a long process.

Additionally, the queue won't be adjusted based on simplicity of RMA task. If there are 400 RMAs in front of this one, they will be handled in order. So the queue will take into consideration the no of jobs in the queue multiplied by an average time factor (hence the estimate).

It is entirely possible there are 6 weeks worth or RMA tasks before this will even be picked up.

My guess is that when it is picked up PCS will actually just replace the card from stock and take up the return with the OEM supplier. This is purely a guess though.

I bring astonishing news...

My GPU arrived at PCS at about noon today and a replacement should be with me.......... TOMORROW 🤯 🥹🤣

THIS is why I will always choose and recommend PCS

(Just hope I haven't jinxed it by posting this 🤞 )

Anyway, something occurred to me, should I run DDU before I reinstall the GPU, or after, or not at all? And is there an idiots guide you can point me to (I've done it before but it was a while ago) Or is there anything else I could/should do? (Nothing too complicated or potentially catastrophic please, my nerves are shot as it is 🤣)

Thanks again to all who helped, especially Scott. Medals for everyone and cream buns for tea! 🥇🧁

If you have DDU on there anyway then sure, uninstall it. It'll be the same driver that gets installed anyway, but it certainly won't hurt.
