Potential New Build

Hi all, I've customised a build via pcs configurator and come up with the following, minus the GPU. I've spent the last few years using a ps4 for my gaming needs but want something with a bit more oomph. I intend to get one of the new Radeon cards when they launch. Having looked at self build i decided for the price it was a good choice to go with prebuilt with PCS. Anyone care to cast an eye over this and see if anything should/could be changed. Budget is about on point and leaves me with the money to buy the GPU once launched.

I play CoD and other FPS titles, I will get Cyberpunk and it will be paired with a DellS2721DGF (1440p 165Hz).

It’s a pretty solid build, just a couple of things I’ve noticed.

Storage wise, you’ve just got the one M.2 drive on there which the OS and programs will eat a fair amount of. That’s not much, have you got your own drives that you’re planning to add in?

You wouldn’t actually need a liquid cooler with the 5600X, but if you do want one the H100i RGB Platinum is the one to go for.

Motherboard wise, the TUF X570 would be a better long term choice.

The AX200 WiFi card is good as it has Bluetooth, I’ve got my system wired up by Ethernet but got the card anyway as it’s handy for any peripherals like an Xbox pad.

Budget wise I'm looking at £1500 all in, for this part without GPU I think £900 as it leaves headroom for the GPU and any price fluctuations.

I have my own storage that will be thrown in once i receive it.

Good to know with regards to CPU cooler, i will take that out and stick with stock i know that they are meant to be good.

I'm not sure what the x570 will do for me over the B550 for the price increase, im not worried about wifi as i have a wired connection to my router.

I am wondering whether the PSU will be enough a few of the new Radeon 6000 SKU's recommend 850w minimum. If I decide to go nvidia 3080 then again a lot recommend 850w, I suppose for the additional £9 better safe than sorry

I made the jump and ordered, still waiting to see what the RX 6800 XT is like when it launches next Wednesday before buying GPU (if i can get one). I will be adding my own RAM purchased separately when it arrives - Crucial Ballistix 2x8gb 3600 C16

You didn’t actually order a single 4GB stick of 2400MHz RAM, did you? I really want to believe that’s a typo... or you’ve purchased your own RAM to add in upon arrival? 😬
