Hello,

I was hoping i could get some opinions on a build i want to order from pcs, my hardware knowledge is limited but generally what im looking for can be seen from the specs i have posted below in terms of performance, my uncertainty is on things like cooling, psu, and i want to know if compatibilty is good or do i have any major bottle necking with the specs below?

I also would like to know if what i have selected can be open to some upgrades in future if needed?

In simpler terms, is this a good build or no?

Hello,

I was hoping I could get some advice before going ahead with a purchase, this will be my first PC since 2007 and I just want to make sure that everything that i have selected will work well together and is open to some upgrades in future if needed, I have also included a monitor in my order and would like to know if they go well together, I intend to use this set up for gaming mostly and i cant wait to see the difference as i am switching from an acer nitro 5 i5 8300h gtx 1050 mobile laptop which can barely cope with any modern games tbh.

Any advice would be appreciated please help :)

Pretty strong attempt, but there’s a few areas I would strongly recommend changing.

First question is: how urgently do you need this PC? New AMD CPUs are rumoured to be out in a month which will have a very high chance of taking back the performance crown.

If you can’t wait I.E this is a PC you NEED rather than WANT, please answer the following to help us optimise your build.
What’s your budget? Are you buying on finance? If not I would recommend grabbing the monitor elsewhere. That Coolermaster monitor is an unknown to me and I only feel comfortable products that I have or have been endorsed by trusted third party reviewers, or other experienced members on the forum.
Please can you include the configuration link to help us make edits?

I have already placed the order earlier this afternoon, and yeah i sort of wanted it soon as possible as my laptop keeps getting the BOD when gaming, I went a little over my budget as it cost £2420 after an additional tweak to the specs, my original budget was around 2200. I did buy it on finance so i could spread the cost over the year with no interest. Would i still be able to make amendments if needed? I did call pcs up earlier and the guy went through all the specs with me and advised that what i have selected will work really well together, he only advised i upgrade the psu for future proofing which i have done, see the config link below:

If this is purely for gaming you can cut down to 16GB of RAM. Very few games will require more than that (MSFS and a few heavily modded titles) and it’s an easy upgrade down the line.
For £100 more the 3070ti doesn’t offer enough over the 3070 for me to recommend it, especially as you’re over budget and the GPU will be inevitably swapped out down the line.
The case is fairly budget, given how toasty Intel’s CPUs are I would recommend investing a bit more into it, something like the Corsair 4000D Airflow is a strong choice here. If you want to keep the RGB the Lian Li 215 is slightly cheaper and would be my recommendation. Other great choices but they’re more expensive.
You can drop the Arctic paste as the Capellix comes with premium paste pre applied.
Given that you’re buying on finance the Coolermaster is probably the best of the selection, having done a bit of research.

As you are on finance, amendments are a bit different. I believe that you pay or are credited the difference, and the finance agreement made with Hitachi isn’t touched, but best to contact PCS about this as I might be wrong!
