Please review proposed spec for Laptop

Hi I'm looking for a laptop for the following requirements

I'd be looking at 15 inch laptop
It would be used for the following activities

1. Software development - primarily using Visual Studio
2. Some photo editing
3. Some music editing
4. General use
5. Potentially some video editing put this would not be a primary consideration

I'm not into gaming so that is not a consideration

The laptop would primarily be used at home so it would not need to be ultra light.

What about the following would this be the best or would you change some of the components
Would a H series chip be the best or would a U series chip be adequate ?
Is the hard disk configuration suitable ?
Any other advice ?

Change the RAM from 1x16 to 2x8 and the storage option to an m.2, i believe the samsung 970 is the best(?), m.2's are much faster than a normal SSD at moving huge files around, and compression/decompression is significantly faster too.
for ram, dual channel is WAYY faster than single, and free performance gains as 2x8 is same price as 1x16

Same as Jaigal plus, you could consider a 500GB m2 and a bigger HDD for storage, the 7200rpm models are fine. Bullguard is probably only there as it is the page default but if not do not bother, Windows Defender is far better. For any machine over 1,000 I think the fiver for Silver warranty is worth it.

What sort of music editing. A dual-boot with a Linux Studio distro may be worth it, they all have low latency kernels which as much better for music production.

With regard to the m2 drive which of the 512 Gb m2 drive would you suggest, the PCS, Intel or Samsung , I've noticed the Samsung is more expensive is it worth the extra money ? With regard to the HDD drive for Storage there is a choice of SSD or Serial ATA e.g Seagate 1TB , does it matter for storage purposes ?

I prefer the Samsung m2s, they are quick and have found them reliable. For storage my choice would be a standard HDD but only the 7200rpm ones, I think the Seagate is that.

The samsungs are generally regarded the best of the PCIe 3 M2 drives for reliability and performance, it's worth the extra cost.

Thank you for your replies. I'm now thinking of getting a 17.3" laptop as it is only used at home and the dimensions do not appear much bigger than my current 7 year old 15.6" laptop. Having had a chat regarding NTSC % i'm thinking of the following set up. Is there anything that you would change ? Or any other comments. Thanks for your help.
