I don't think the 1660 Ti is worth it over the 1660 given that you are swapping out. Sure, you'll get some extra frames, but as it's a placeholder I would save the cash.

It's my personal preference but I would go for a 500GB M2 980 Pro for the OS, programs and maybe a game or 2, and a 1TB PCS M2 secondary drive just for the rest of your games. I would also have a 2/3TB conventional drive for backups and office storage.

Limiting it to a 500GB primary keeps you in check storage wise, 1TB can get a bit wild with files all over the place. It means when you reformat you're not eating up TB of writes copying stuff back and forth.

Hi Scott, thanks for your quick reply. Appreciate the advice regarding storage and the GPU.
I've adjusted the spec. Can you confirm if this is what you meant?

Any need for additional fans or thermal paste?

Yip, that's it. I would opt for a 2TB or 3TB storage drive though. It's not THAT much more expensive for the 2TB for sure. That way you can be sure you won't be craving space any time soon. I believe you should still be inside the original budget also.

This line...

1st Storage Drive
1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 64MB CACHE

I would change that to 2TB.

You're right. It's only like £10 extra for 2TB. Did you see my question about extra fans - are they needed?

Here's the final spec. Posting in case you or anyone else has any further comments before I purchase today - thanks!

The spec you have there is all good....there shouldn't be any need for extra fans...plus the extra fans are likely noisier than the case fans thus negating the "Quiet" aspect of the case (not saying they will be noisier, just more likely to be).

I see, thanks.

As above, the cooler acts as an extra pair of fans anyway. The case comes with fans as standard so you are more than covered for standard uses. I have no extra fans on mine and it's a similar layout with a much hotter CPU so you will be fine :)
