Hey all, I’m investing into a gaming pc for the first time and I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I have a budget of around £2500 but this includes PC, monitor and keyboard & mouse as I currently have nothing.

I don’t really have very much knowledge about pc’s and don’t mind buying a cheaper monitor now and then upgrading it at a later date when it’s more affordable.

My primary use will be for gaming. I’d like to be able to run modern games at good graphics and frame rates.
I appreciate any feedback.

Hello, I’m looking to buy my first custom gaming pc including the monitor and keyboard. I’d really like some feedback as I’m brand new to all of this.

My quote currently is £2,276 and I’d ideally like to keep it below £2,300. If it could be reduced to around £2000 that would be perfect.

The PC will be used for gaming and I’d like to run some more modern games that require a better PC with good graphics and frame rate.

I’m planning on playing games like COD and GTA, as well as some mmo’s like throne and liberty. Also games like factorio and rimworld.

It would be nice to be able to run things like chrome, twitch and discord in the background at the same time.

The monitor I’m looking to buy is the
PCSpecialist GD-27Q180 27" IPS Monitor - 2560x1440, 1MS, 180Hz.

I really just want to check I’m buying the optimal parts that work well together and it would be great if there was anyway to reduce the total price.

There's no need for three separate posts for the same request (I've asked for the duplicates to be removed).

The likely reason for people not responding to your original ones (which you could have edited) is that they asked for you to read the sticky post and come back with the answers to the questions raised.

I'll post a suggested config below, and give reasons for each change (although the PCS peripherals are not the best quality, so you'll want some advice on alternatives for a 1440p monitor, keyboard, mouse & mouse mat).

Just so you are aware, the current gaming king CPU, the 9800X3D, is £150 more than the older 7800X3D (which is out of stock), so our guide prices for 1440p builds are £2100+ excluding any monitor & other peripherals...so £2000 with those included is impossible without seriously cutting corners to the detriment of the whole build, and making it a 'throwaway' build.

CORSAIR 3500X ARGB TEMPERED GLASS MID-TOWER (BLACK) - much better case for cooling, and includes 3 ARGB fans as standard
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Eight Core CPU (Up to 5.2GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) - expensive, but the best gaming CPU on the market currently - could go down to the 7800X3D (for £150 saving at the loss of 10% FPS), but it's not in stock and the ETA keeps getting push back

GIGABYTE X870 EAGLE WIFI7 (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) - no need for the expensive Crosshair Hero motherboard unless you're planning on getting into overclocking, or just want to show it off
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - sweet spot of price/performance for AM5 X3D CPUs (slower can lose you 10% performance)
Graphics Card
16GB GIGABYTE RADEON™ RX 7800 XT GAMING OC - 2 x HDMI, 2 x DP - 7900XT is a 4K GPU, and I'd go for the 7900GRE for a balanced GPU, but it's another component with a moving ETA

512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) - smaller, faster primary SSD for the OS, apps, and game launchers only (to limit what you'd lose if the system or SSD failed)

So about £200 less than your budget, but doesn't include the monitor or peripherals...and you don't want to cheap out on those as it will ruin the whole gaming experience.

This monitor is highly-recommended on here, but it will take you over your budget...and you've also got to get keyboard & mouse.
