Planning first gaming PC

Hello, I'd like to start by saying that this will be my first ever PC so I really don't know much. I had some help from my father who knows a bit about computers, but he doesn't play video games so he's never built a gaming PC before. Therefore this is very much a first draft spec and any advice would be appreciated.

Budget - Ideally I'd like to stay under £1800, but I'm willing to go above that for the sake of future-proofing. My absolute maximum is £2000.

Purpose - Primarily gaming. However, I don't play the kind of games where reaction speed is very important, so I don't think I need super fast graphics.
I'm also considering a career change into programming, but if/when that ever happens I don't think I'll be doing anything advanced like AI. Still, it would be nice to have a gaming PC which could potentially be upgraded for simple programming in the future, or even work for both now if that's possible within my price range. Don't worry if it isn't, my main priority is games.

Monitor - Right now I have selected the ASUS TUF GAMING VG249QL3A 24" - 1920 x 1080, FAST IPS, 180Hz. However I would welcome advice if you think something else would suit me better.

I also have some questions about specific things I would like some help with:

Cooler - I saw on this forum that most people recommend Corsair coolers, but when I looked at the options they were all RGB. Do they sell any without the silly lights, or will I just have to put up with them? As long as you can turn the LEDs off I don't mind, but I'm worried that they might be on all the time.

Storage Drives - I read that people recommend one for the OS and one for everything else, but I'm not sure which kind of storage that should be. At the moment my second drive is a SATA SSD, but it looks like it would actually be cheaper to just get two M.2 drives. Should I do that or are there benefits to having a regular SSD?

Graphics Card - There's so many options here, I have to admit I'm very confused.

Here is my spec:

The budget isn't there for an X3D chip while keeping the rest of the build sweet so I've opted for the 9700X. It's no slouch and should do you fine for your uses.

The main spend, as always, is the GPU unfortunately. I would strongly recommend opting for the 16GB of VRAM version below. It's more expensive, but it gives you the most flexibility with future uses and endeavours.

£1800 with a monitor was a struggle, the prices are sky high unfortunately. Below is a top system for your needs though, covers all future needs as well. It won't take the highest end GPU without an upgrade to the PSU, but anything mid tier it has covered.

Hello, it's me again. I delayed putting in the order and it looks like the Corsair 3000D case is now out of stock, so I'm planning to switch to the LIAN LI LANCOOL 205 MESH C GAMING CASE. Do you think this is suitable?

I'd use the Send In Your Own Case function and buying a Corsair 3500X.

Case: Corsair 3500X

I'd also consider this AOC monitor; somewhat cheaper than the ASUS, but one of the best budget gaming monitors for 1080p.

Monitor: AOC 24G4X

Thanks for your help. It seems like the white Corsair 3500X is in stock now. I might wait a couple of days to see if the black one also comes back in stock, otherwise I will just buy the white. I'd rather not go to the trouble of sending a case in. I will think about the monitor though, that one does look good and cheaper too.

Sending a case in is no hassle, you just get it sent direct to them with your pcs order number as part of the address
