My two pennies worth:

The OP did act a little irrationally about the situation and caused frankly a little more fuss than was necessary. I was honestly wondering if the wiring in a PC could actually cause death, only the AC would be the culprit there, but that would have been pure negligence, but this is only low current / low voltage. Some people act differently to situations than others, by instantly thinking the worst because of a lack of knowledge, but tbh not everyone thinks logically all the time. Frankly if I would have seen this in my case i would have giggled about it then just use a couple of zip ties.

The PC Specialist team, even the active members of the team on the forums have done a stellar job of defusing this situation. This is why I'm happy to buy from you guys again.

A little? It was unnecessary to make such a thread. Glad it has been clarified and hope another thread like this does not take place. I guess that's why he is not back posting anymore.

Unfortunately those with the troll mentality do not care they just crave attention. As Andy Warhol said, "everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame", although he could have added "or infamy."

Eh?
Coated wires, cable managed. What the issue? How else did you expect the cables to get from the power to the fans?

Move along.

I would like to know, Mattie, how in anyone's mind is this classed as a life threatening issue? Or anyone's issue for that matter. If I had received my PC like that I would of complemented the great cable management.
If you don't like it, I will happily take the PC off your hands.

They could have just kept everything hidden. This, by PCS is a very good move and really shows them to be a caring company! !

I do commend PCS. But there is nothing better than when someone complains, you have a moment of did I make a mess up?, and then you see you did everything right and you can get back to that person with the plain facts with an unsaid stuff that in your pipe hole.
It is in the interest of PCS to show that there is no foundation to a complaint that could have put questions in some people's mind.

Yes good job PCS. Mind you it would have been in their interests to show what was going on whatever it was, the more they communicate like this the more comfortable people get. Its the scary 'unknown' that bothers people... :)

Can anyone enlighten me as to the actual problem with those wires? I might be being dense here, I don't see whats wrong?

I thought it couldn't have been a major issue. It's very difficult to make a computers wires unsafe, since they all come insulated. Just confirmed what I though which was that it was either going to be something very minor to do with cable management or nothing at all.

The only issue that could've caused was if there was a break in the wire and it then went through the case to the MB, but that would short the computer, nothing more.

Very well done PCS for publishing these pictures, now all your current and potential customers can make up their own minds about this issue.

For me, as with others, it's a non-issue, but I've worked with computers all my working life. This isn't a problem at all and if those cables only power LEDs there will be nothing even approaching 1 Amp of current in them, milliamps at best I would have thought. In any case IMO there is almost nothing in a PC outside of the PSU and the mains cabling that can be hazardous to the user. The static charge on the user is far more dangerous to the PC!

That said, I think we need to show some understanding towards the OP. It now seems that he has over-reacted but if he's not electrically savvy it's easy to understand how he could have seen this as a problem. As I've said before, mistakes are the way we learn.

Full marks to PCS again and my confidence is restored. :)

Well... He did try and make out he was savvy talking about ISO9001 or something on the PCS thread in the 'what's new' subforum. Been deleted now though.

and he is gone without further comments. While I agree there should be some understanding for someone not knowledgeable regarding electrical equipment I personally don't think it is valid here. The OP did over react but from the start he had an infantile behaviour in this and other threads (don't buy from PCS, I could be killed, ISO mention, removing items in his order to get better service...........).

AS I suspected all along really, glad PCS posted the pictures because it will put others minds at ease.

I'm not going to give the OP any slack because of the way he acted in his multiple previous threads, PM's and other peoples threads. I took the liberty of looking at some of his edits and I suspect the OP knew he was going too far by the edits he made shortly after posting several of his posts. The parts edited from some posts told the story when read across multiple threads, he knew what he was doing and I suspect that was angling for some discount after the initial build too longer than anticipated.

That said, I have seen PCS do this multiple times. They always call out these kinds of posts with pics, email screenshots or whatever and more often than not the OP is never heard from again. The response time to emails, call waiting times and communication about issues may be slightly slow at times but you cant fault PCS for their cable management!

Well, what an anti-climax this thread turned out to be.

I expected better from you guys, honestly. Where's the drama?!

Now I'm going back to attempting to fry an egg on my top exhaust.

I say we send a pre wired taser in a tin box to him to make up for all the time I've wasted fretting about my own build and reading his posts. If anyone can youtube him unwrapping it, so much the better.

Sorry I had to lol when I saw the pictures (at the OP). My question though is if the OP believed this fan power cable to be dangerous, this suggests he isn't very knowledgeable regarding PC internals, so why was he even inside the PC in the first place?

This thread appears to be getting out of control. I'm going to lock this thread from further replies PCS appear to have responded to the queries of the OP and the OP has not since responded here - if the OP wishes to make another thread, they may do so.
