PC Won’t Boot.

So yesterday after a restart, the PC won’t boot and originally had a red light under vga on the motherboard. Spoke to CS and proceeded to reseat the GPU, couldn’t try the other pci slot due to clearance and the red light repeated.

Decided to take the ram out bar one stick but still nothing, so I put all the ram back in and now we have a red light under boot on the motherboard. I do not know what to do and need the PC for work 😬😬

That CPU has integrated graphics, so you could remove the GPU and connect monitor to motherboard display output instead. That way if it boots ok you know it’s the GPU that’s the issue and investigate further. If it doesn’t boot, leave GPU out and try and isolate issue.

If you removed and reinserted RAM, make sure they’re all seated correctly. Give a firm push down to be certain.

If the red light is for boot, that may mean it can’t find a boot device with an OS, but try the steps above first.

check the M.2 is properly seated while you've got it open as well, they have been known to come loose in transit

To add: I’m now at a complete loss, customer service isn’t open until Monday, I can’t work and I’m not confident with fiddling with the PC. I have a friend who wants to take a look who works as a tech guy but I’m too afraid to void the warranty by having the whole thing taken apart and put back together again.

What can I do?

Your warranty allows you to make changes to system yourself but a third party will void warranty. So you can try the actions advised above or wait until Monday. Your choice really, but removing the GPU is not difficult. Just take your time.

  1. Disconnect Pc from power, disconnect all other cables.
  2. Disconnect the power cables connected to top of GPU. You’ll need to press down tabs to release them, might need a gentle wiggle.
  3. Unscrew the screws holding GPU to the back of case
  4. Press down on the lock latch at the back of the PCI slot to release GPU
  5. Gently pull GPU up and out of the pci slot
A quick search on YouTube will give you a ton of how to videos to watch as well

I’ve managed to remove the GPU and put it back in but again same result. All RGB lights come on (fans, ram, gpu), the fans on everything run, but now a red light on the motherboard under Boot.

I guess I’ll have to wait until Monday 😬

Take out the GPU and leave it out. Connect your monitor to the motherboard display port and see if it boots.

Cool, so now you know there’s an issue with GPU which you can talk through with PCS on Monday and in the meantime the integrated GPU should be enough for you to work with.

Surprised you didn’t have a DP cable for the 3080. DP is better than HDMI

Until I restarted, bios now boots but windows isn’t

I didn’t see an additional USB add-in card listed in your spec, so where has this come from?

I have a small PCIe device in the lowest slot on mine, but it’s the WiFi/Bluetooth card…which you also don’t listed have in your spec.

That certainly seems to be failing, you can create an RMA just for that individual card through your online account, and PCS will ship a replacement next day delivery.
Shall have a look - PC passes the Window’s health checks, managed a 4 hour stream plus 4 hours of Warzone after. Will see how it is when I get home today!
