PC Will Not Boot

I've had my pc for barely a week and it has been absolutely fine. This morning I've gone to switch it on and it won't boot. It starts and then turns itself off again after 2-3 seconds and then does this constantly unless I switch it off at the rear. I can see nothing loose inside. I have reseated then RAM modules but nothing different happens. HELP!

Can you post your full spec from your account page please, just so we know what components we're working with.

Also, are there any fault codes/Q-LEDs shown on the motherboard?

Unexpectedly, as I booted it again to look for lights, it has just booted into safe mode. This is after at least 30 or 40 attempts. I can't see any lights on the motherboard.

You need to edit your config post to remove your Windows licence code (so no-one steals it).

But from that BIOS page, the first thing I've noticed is that XMP is not enabled, so your PC will be running its RAM at 4800MHz instead of the 6000MHz that the kit is capable of.

You can change that, and give it another try, but without the error codes it's a matter of checking everything is firmly installed (RAM, power cable, GPU, etc.). But I'm not sure if that motherboard or cooler is really suitable for a volcano of a 14900.

Here's more about the error code system on your motherboard. That motherboard uses Q-LED Core, which flashed the power light in different patterns to tell you what the issue is.

How do I enable XMP? (Edit -I see this now).

I'm worried about the comments about the motherboard and cooler as I bought this system brand new from PCSpecialist.....

Was it a custom build, or a pre-built?

The pre-builts, and some of the suggestions from the PCS sales people, tend to cater for what the computer needs to run on the day it was purchased, and what will physically fit based on manufacturers published marketing blurb

Whereas the volunteers on the forum take a more holistic view and read reviews of each of the components to understand what the real figures are, and build in headroom for 7-10 years of life/upgrades.

Having exited safe mode - there being nothing else I could do, the pc has booted properly. Had it done this this morning when I switched it on, I'd have been none the wiser. I'm just wondering what else, if anything, i ought to do, other than raise the issues I've had today with PCEssentials?

Absolutely understood. Whilst I'm not quite a novice, I'm not that far removed, so while I looked at the components, when I bought it, I didn't do so with any kind of expert eye.

If there's no current issue with it, I'm not sure what you'd tell PCSpecialist about...plus they're probably closed until Tuesday anyway...so it will give you a few more days to see how it's running.

It's almost like PCSpecialist is trying to dump all their stock of 14900 CPUs as no-one wants them!
Just so the OP gets an idea of what folk are on about
