Pc over heating

Hello,

I got my pc delivered less than a month now, and it has good specs 2080ti ...
I am playing call of duty warzone (With medium to normal graphic setting) and my fps is capped to 160
But still my GPU is over heating too much, it reaches 85 Celsius and the case is very hot.

Note : I even turned the all customizable fan speed (iCUe) to the max RPM and made sure all the fans are ok, and I don't have anything running in the background.

Thank you

The only limitation I can see is with the H115i cooler, but that would affect the CPU way more than the GPU..

Do you have 3DMarks? Could you run either Firestrike or Timespy on a torture test with all fans maxed out? (CPU, GPU and all case fans using iCue)?

While running, could you have HWmonitor running at the same time as well.

I just opened the case, I found a LED strip not attached, it was just hanging there
I took it off and left the case open, now the temp is 62 while gaming
could that be the cause !?

It's not going to be the LED. I'm wondering if your fans have been configured incorrectly. If the front fans are pulling into the case and the CPU fans are set to pull into the case also, they will be fighting each other and this will cause it to overheat significantly.

Could you post up pictures of the front fans in the case and also the fans of the CPU?

The door being off and working fine has my alarm bells ringing. The 500D SE is a fantastic case for airflow......... when configured correctly.

yes maybe, here are some pictures, if they are bad I can take them again

I've already contacted the admin about your build Tom. I'm not happy with it.

I thought that if it reached 100 then that’s when it would be considered bad haha, maybe just bad for airflow then with the case?

Also, what could the admin do? Don’t get them to collect my PC I need to work😢😅

IIRC correctly that looks fine. Can you confirm that the front fans of the case are blowing into the case and the fans attached to the cooler are going out the top?

I'm genuinely not happy with who built your PC and the entire build in general. I love what PCS do but there's no excuse for the mistakes made in your build to be honest. I know they will reason it out with the current pandemic, but there's no excuse regardless IMO. I sincerely hope it's a one off, and I have voiced my concerns in that regard, but at the end of the day you have received a sub-standard build. Something that I genuinely rarely see.

I probably have less clout than you at the end of the day, as you are the customer, hence why I asked you to raise the point as well. But my moral compass is firmly pointed in a particular direction and I cannot let that lie. If I put my hat on something, whether it's a build or a company, I'll voice my opinion when I'm not happy with how events transpire.

The fans of the case are blowing into the case Yes 100%, but about the fans that are attached to the cooler I think they are also blowing into the case

If the fans from the cooler are blowing into the case that's your issue. I'm surprised, as they seem to be pointing in the right direction. It could possibly be wiring though, bit it's likely my understanding that's off.

Hold a piece of paper in front of the fans and see which way it goes.

I'm going to send them another email about this, as it appears the first email I did from my portal on the site has removed itself and not come back. I'll send an email to the enquiries email now and hope to get a response by tomorrow, not entirely sure what they can say back to me though I've never had problems with PC's like this myself, always just heard about them online if someone builds them theirselves.

But thanks for the comments anyway, I wouldn't of realised how bad it was if you didn't say anything, I just thought it would be a general mistake, raising it now :)

its blown out, so its correctly set i guess
Should I just leave the case open, or I can do something else to help it cool off ?

Something definitely isn't right though. You shouldn't need to leave the case open, that's for sure.

I notice that the lighting is disabled with the H115i. Is this deliberate? I'm wondering if the fans are set to quiet mode?

Additionally, what's the space like around the case? Does it have room to breathe? The fans at the top need room to expel the air and the fans at the front need room to draw it in.

In my mind something is definitely not right.

What is the fan profile of the GPU?

These are the setting, If you are talking about the corsair logo light, yes I did disabled it.
The fans are set to quiet mode, is it better to set it to extreme while gaming ?
Yes there is enough space for the fans to draw air and there is nothing on the top of the case.
Thank you for your help

I run quiet mode for most generic tasks. When I'm going for a heavy gaming session I set it to extreme. It's more to do with the case temp than the CPU temp for me. My rig is in a cupboard though so it's not a direct comparison. I would literally scald myself if I was a user asking for advice, it's literally in a shoe box. I'm so impressed with the H115i given my uses haha.

I would even attempt balanced to see how that affects temps.

The thing is.... I don't have a 2080Ti, that beast is going to put out some heat!

I would run a few tests. Give it a go on Balanced and a go on Extreme. Also check what the chassis fans are set to if you can. You should be able to monitor them with iCue as well if it's been set up correctly. You want them on balanced/extreme as well.

Your CPU will be absolutely fine but the GPU needs some good airflow.

Just one more addition. If your CPU temps are absolutely rock solid, you could add a good exhaust fan to the rear of the case to aid the GPU. The reason why I'm a huge supporter of AIO systems is the help that they give the GPU for cooling. It needs to be on a more balanced profile though so an exhaust fan could fit this particular shoe for you.
