PC has suddenly stopped working

Hi,

I recently bought a PC from this website (around 17/01/2014) and it has been working normally up until last night.
I went to turn my PC on after it having been off all day, and the PC itself started up (fans running, lights on etc) but there was no POST beep and the monitor displayed nothing.
I must add that fairly often, whenever I shutdown my PC it would start up straight away on its own, sometimes 2/3 times in a row.

I have googled the problem and every solution seems to involve taking apart the hardware inside the case which I am not too confident about doing.

I also must add that I didn't decide to buy any OS, and instead installed a copy of Windows that my friend had downloaded from torrents :( would this have anything to do with it?

Below is my build:

Top right of mobo beside the dimms should be a post code, have a look at that when it's booting and post what value it settles on

Thank you for your response. I'm at work at the moment and won't be home until around 1.30PM but I'll post as soon as I can.

Is this likely to explain what the issue is? I understand that normally it is communicated in beeps through the POST, but is this another alternative if there are no beeps?

Yep, it will post codes up to each stage of boot showing success or failure. The code it rests on should tell you which process it's up to and if it's succeeded or failed. If it not succeeding the post, then it's not a windows issue, more likely faulty or loose hardware. If it is succeeding post, perhaps may be worth reseating the gfx card first of all, or switch to on board graphics.

Sorry I've been quite busy at work all morning.

Thanks for taking the time to explain and help me out!

I'll post the codes as soon as I get home.

I've just booted up my PC and the numbers didn't change from "00"

It's been botted up for a couple of minutes and the numbers still read "00"

00 isn't an error code I don't think (hence 'not used'). I could be wrong about that though.

Check if re-seating the components helps, it might do. You might need to remove most components though and try to boot with the minimal stuff in and then start adding components again to see if you can narrow down whats causing the issue.

I have been doing sosome googling myself and it seems that it could be the CPU, but I hope not because my PC is water cooled and that may take a while to reseat everything.
I've only had the PC since January and it arrive built so I'm struggling to understand why this has happened.
It is still in warranty though so I'm thinking returning it would be the most sensible answer so I don't invalidate the warranty by taking my it apart myself.

Thank you to both of you for your replies. I'm off for the weekend until Tuesday so I won't be able to try anything until then. When I manage to find a fix I'll post back here with a description of what it was :)

Just as an extra thought, when you say torrented download of Windows, does this mean its not a legally activated copy, if so its possible that its the OS that's causing the issues if its tried to do an update but couldn't because its not a legally activated version.

It's performed successful updates before so I'm not sure it would be that, but then again I don't know what it is :/

I could have a play around but on the off chance that I do break it I think it would be stupid of me not to send it back under the warranty.

If the postcode stays at 00 from the start of the boot to the finish does this mean it has been unsuccessful on the first stage?
