Ive just spent a few hours on playing this morning....not a clue what im doing, downloads all the free expansions for it too, currently lvl 40 and built myself a wooden house! Died three times, got some sickness i cant get rid of and just randomly running around trying to lvl and learn recipes..... tried killing a triceratops which ended badly....

Kinda fun....

im thinking theyve put it out for free as theyve started advertising Ark II? Get more people interested in the game that way perhaps.

Pretty much. Ark 2 has been highly anticipated for fans of the original and it got a release window last week, so it definitely makes sense to give the original one away for free now. Gotta build that hype!

It's only one of the most important gaming reworks of the modern era.

The whole game completely reworked, so far only part 1 has been released, the first part is purely Midgar, the second part is apparently being showcased next week. New battle mechanics, new graphics engine, entirely new detail to the levels while remaining true to the original, but it's hugely embellished. The first part alone (Midgar) takes a good 25 hours to complete on a speed run, if you're playing properly, it's about 60 hours JUST FOR MIDGAR!!!

But look at the beauty of one of the best games ever made brought up to date!!!!

On Prime day this year (12th and 13th of July) Amazon will be furnishing subscribed members to a veritable smorgasbord of gaming delights.

The big hitter is Mass Effect: Legendary Edition! Other biggies on the list are GRID Legends, Need For Speed: Heat, Star Wars: Jedi Academy, Jedi Outcast, and Republic Commando. how many games is the lord up to now in their collection?

At the start of 2022, I estimated that I would hit 2,500 games during the Steam summer sale. The sale is next week I think (might be week after) and I am at 2,598 games in the library. I'm not sure if I should be proud and/or disgusted that I hit 2,500 far sooner than I thought I would- my library is taking on a life of its own!
