Excellent plan. I'm at work until ten tonight and I reckon the good lady won't make it past half eleven before falling asleep so I need to plot my game of choice for the evening.

I have a large amount of quality beer and whisky at home so I'm thinking that a game which requires lightning fast reflexes may not be the right decision...

I recently picked up 'Virginia' and 'The Return of the Obra Dinn' on Steam so might delve into one of those.
If you like those murder mystery type games, have you played "The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter"?

I have not... worth it?
It's like a walkthrough game, very gentle, but the graphics are just epically beautiful. It's very easy going, I enjoyed it personally.

They remastered it recently, and it's cheap as chips, the remaster is a free DLC to the original game:

Sounds good, I'll have a look.

My other alternative is to get blind drunk and transport some dynamite in Euro Truck. Might not end well.

That's why I like steam, you can play for 10 hours or so and refund it if you don't like it.
Not so... you are limited to 2 hours of "playing" -- the problem I find once is I had trouble running the game and didn't even get to play it after about 1.5hrs trying however it's still recorded as "played time", then refunded. but yes, only 2 hours. However I personally like steam as well. Won't touch EG, even for the free games they dish out.

You aren't like me then? The more alcohol you consume, the better you get? I have fond memories of trying to play Tekken on the PS1 and being absolutely beyond useless....until I played it at 3am after about 8 hours of drinking (those days that would have been about 15 pints of Bitter and half a bottle of Malibu) and being insanely good at it . It also used to work on pub fruit machines...one drunken eveing I managed to get £80 out of a machine with an outlay of about £5 as my reflexes were so much better :ROFLMAO:
I always find that for me, there’s a perfect level of intoxication. At about four and a half pints in, I become a god. Unbeatable at pool, hitting treble twenties consistently on the dartboard and I will destroy anyone who dares join me for a game of Streetfighter.

At six pints in, I will rip the baize of the pool table, hit an innocent bystander with a dart, spill drinks all over the arcade cabinet and not be invited back to that particular establishment.

Have you played control yet? What’s it like?
Gave it an hour last night - and will be back at it again later.

WASD usual controls for getting about, although it does seem she runs everywhere, even though its not her running lol. Third person perspective (you have the character on screen) but seems to work ok. My laptop is able to play Ray tracing on medium and it does add to the graphical feel of the game with some nice looking reflections etc as you walk around.

Gameplay...I have no idea yet where this story is going haha but seems to be heading somewhere.

I wont give too much away, but you start off entering the door of the FBC - Federal Bureau of Control and it appears deserted. You walk around looking around a few things picking up the odd piece of paper / file lying around. No steer yet on what to do, until you meet the ifrst person. Then when you go off to where he said, things start to happen and get a bit weird, leading into an area that is obviously the tutorial on moving, jumping, getting a gun, shooting, reloading etc then its back into the FBC building and making your way around there with strange things now afoot..but you need your gun :)

My initial hour, I shot about 20 enemies but spent most of the time looking around as I'm one of these that would try every draw / cupboard if it let you in case I missed anything LOL, but there isnt a lot to find but I still had to walk in and around every room :)

I've even died once already as I wasnt concentrating.

I will be going back to it at some point but still want to get other games finished, but I think for the £11.59 I paid and the £10 voucher used, I think it will be a value for money game.
