Yea that's similar to the shopto experience I had. It was using it's own download .exe which wasn't very user friendly and it was saying that Crysis Maximum edition was 16mb file size. After 2 weeks of emails back and forth they finally refunded me as they sent all their links from the provider and none of them were correct. Would have been much easier with a Steam key! (although thinking of it, Crysis won't be on Steam anyway will it? It's more likely to be origin... which I'm not sure they used when the first crysis came out?)
