Primarily Gaming, and some random stuff to do with Uni, but that shouldn't impact anything.

Budget
I'd rather stay around this price, but the most I'm willing to push to is £2000.

I would suggest ordering without a GPU, and then getting a 5070ti Founders Edition from Scan once it's released.

I think that's going to not only offer better performance and certainly better ray tracing and frame generation (which is far more important now with so many newer titles barely reaching 60fps), but I also think it will be more stable. It's just a fact you need to have far stronger troubleshooting skills with AMD GPU drivers. It also has the same 16Gb VRAM which is important for 1440p

That case can fit up to 360mm length GPUs which should accommodate high end mid range cards fine in the future

But I'd also up the PSU to allow for better future upgrade-ability, we've seen GPU power requirements double since the RTX2000 series alone which was only 6 years ago. 750W will quite heavily restrict you if you do want to step up a tier later on.

With that in mind, this is what I'd propose, and still comes within budget

I'll take a look at the 5070TI and when it releases. Also, Founders Edition just means it's coming directly from Nvidia instead of a third-party correct?
Also, would upgrading the CPU to the 7700x be something which could be worth it for the extra £40 it adds onto the build.

No, it's the older CPU and was more or less replaced by the 7700, which is almost as fast, but uses about 1/2 the power and less heat, so easier to cool.

The upgrade would be to a 7800X3D for gaming - but that's £170 more than a 7700.

I'm replying to @TonyCarter just to continue the same comment, but replying to @HarryS

The 9800X3D would be a significant upgrade over any non-x3d chip. It's the best gaming CPU available.

The 7800X3D is the second best gaming CPU

That would be my choice too. It'll be a long time before a 7700 bottlenecks you in almost any game at 1440p with any reasonable graphics card.
