PC build advice

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well!

I am here in search for advice on a PC build for my sister. Budget is around £800, but I can push it to £1,000 if it will give the computer a noticeable increase in performance.

I was looking at a pre-build system on big A which had the following specs: Intel Core i5-10400F, Nvidia GTX 1650 4GB, 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 450W 80+ PSU, Wi-Fi, Windows 11, 220T RGB and is around £751, however, I am pretty sure at that budget I would be better off going for an AMD build but I am completely clueless in this area!

She would mostly be using it for homework and playing Fortnite so nothing too demanding.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Mantas

What's it going to be used for, what monitor does she have (resolution & refresh rate, or make and model), and to be honest with only £1k budget (£800 isn't really feasible), you aren't going to get much

We could do an integrated graphics system with an AMD CPU, but you'd need to understand that any games would need to be run on low settings.

The idea of this would be you could add a GPU in the future when you have funds available.

I should say that I went with a suggestion from someone with a lot more knowledge than me on this forum. It wasn't my original build. (I originally wanted to spend 600-700)
