Optimus VIII Fingerprint Scanner Issues

Just received my shiny new Optimus VIII, installed Windows 10, installed all the drivers on the CD that came with it... But I can't seem to get the fingerprint scanner to work. It shows up as a device in Device Manager, but in the Sign-in options, it says Windows Hello isn't available on my device. Is there some other driver or software I need to install?

Did you install the drivers from the Optional/other section of the driver disc?
If you look under device manager is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the fingerprint driver entry - there's two entries on mine?
I had this once after deleting the fingerprint scanner driver due to problems reading my fingerprint, no amount of reinstalling the driver worked so did a reinstall of the OS - there were other problems though which led to that decision.

There were no fingerprint scanner drivers on the disc I got (didn't even have an optional or other section).

There's no exclamation mark next to the driver entry, but there's only one entry:


I tried going direct to Clevo and downloading the driver from here (http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=N85xHKx/HJx&ltype=9&submit=+GO+) but the connection times out for all the servers.

There's also no fingerprint driver in the downloads section of my account.

I really don't want to have to reinstall the OS, seems a bit extreme just to get the fingerprint scanner working.

Check the downloads section of your account on the main PC Specialist website.

If that's no help, I'd wait for the Clevo website to stop messing around. It's not a terribly user friendly or reliable site, but it's your best bet for the drivers.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just a temporary glitch on their website and it'll resolve soon.

I've had some joy on the Clevo site by right clicking links to open in new window...seems to trigger the download. Just saying, in case it helps.....
