- Hello everyone.
I have encountered an issue with my Optimus Series laptop. I've bought it 3 months ago and until now didn't really try to run any games on it (mostly just drawing and modeling software).
The issue ONLY seems to happen while playing Dying Light and Dead by Daylight mostly ( I don't play anything else atm). The issue itself is a random FPS drop from stable 60-70FPS down to 5-10FPS for 4-5 seconds and then back to normal and a few minutes after drops again. When I get the FPS stutter temps are high but okay CPU 80-85C, GPU 70-75C, SSD 45C. When FPS drops the GPUs clock speed also drops down to 300Mhz and then goes back to normal frequency.
What I've tried so far:
- 1) Changed and adjusted the Power Settings in the Control Panel
- 2) Updated GPU driver to the latest version
- 3) Stress tested GPU with FurMark
- 4) MemTest'ed RAM
5) Made sure that GTX 1650 is used as a "primary" graphics card in the Nvidia Control Panel
What I am planning to do next:
1) Reinstall Windows
2) Fill in RMA
Any ideas of what could be causing the FPS stutter/drop? The games I've tested on are not THAT heavy for this laptop and it does give a stable 60-70FPS 95% of the time.
P.S Another weird thing I've noticed is that GTX 1650 stock speeds are 1550Mhz Boosted but my GPU runs at 1800Mhz..... Possible that it's an OC edition or someone been OC it before installation?
