I'm not very experienced when it comes to pc's but I'm looking to get a mid tier pc as my old one is ancient & on it's way out. I play games but nothing too fancy, something like Euro Truck simulator at 1080p playing smoothly on high would be good enough for me. I play games like project zomboid which stutters on my current pc when lots of zombies are on screen so again, playing that smoothly would be nice. Watching youtube videos, occasional work on an office document.
Budget wise £1,200 to £1,300 would be good, I'm going a bit over as I really like the Fractal design North case it's a shame btw PCS doesn't have the black version
I do tend to keep anything I own for a long time so main things for me are reliability, being quiet, not stressing parts out & energy efficiency.
I was wondering what the opinions are on this build? I've just been going on the prices of components in the spec options & what I've been reading up on as to what I can fit in my budget.
I based this on the Atlas Elite pre built as a base & hopefully parts I chose don't have a waiting time.
CPU I was wondering if the i7 12700k is the better choice as it's around the same price as this i5 13600 but I'm not sure what the differences are between them? Benchmarks seem to be roughly the same?
GPU was a 3050 in the original machine spec & the bottleneck calculator said that was a good match with the cpu performance. The upgrade to 4060 is around £100 which seems like decent value but Is the 4060 actually going to be an upgrade or is the rest of the system going to throttle it? Is the upgrade to a 4060 overkill for the kind of gaming I do?
Cooling wise do the two 140mm fans included on the front of the case plus the Frostflow 100 v3 seem sufficient? Would I need an extra case fan as an exhaust?
Would liquid cooling be a good idea instead of the air cooler?
Thanks for reading, hopefully this isn't too long.
