Old Gamer needs a hand (1440 Wonderland)

The time as come for an old (well very old gamer ) to dip his toe into the wonderful world of 1440 gaming.
I promised myself one day I would treat myself to a good PC and not just settle for a budget one.
Id really appreciate any help and advise on a spec as I find the multitude of components bewildering.

USE: Solely for 1440 gaming e.g.: open world / RPG's / FPS shooters / WoW
BUDGET £2000 for PC itself
MONITOR £300 for a descent 1440 monitor (MSI G272QPF 27 Inch??)
so £2300 in total.

I've read through the 'check my spec' pages and put something together which I hope isn't too far off the mark for the money
I've gone for the 4070 Super rather than the AMD RX 7900GRE. Recently read some WoW players are experiencing difficulties with AMD cards (7900 series)- and WoW is one of the games I play a lot, I don't need the hassle and worry.


Your thoughts and advise would be very welcome. Thank you.

Wanted to get in quick, for a monitor, this is an absolute steal at £300 but get it quick cos they will sell out fast

I've made a couple of subtle changes, but nothing crazy. It does come to slightly over budget, but not by much.

12GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070 SUPER - HDMI, DP, LHR - no change, but this card is generally the minimum we suggest now for 1440p. Newer games are demanding more and more VRAM and, while 12GB is enough for now, and GPU's are usually the first component that's upgraded, it won't be enough for long. Unfortunately an upgrade to the Ti SUPER (16GB) was an extra £240-odd so didn't fit the budget.

I would also consider the 4070 Ti. I know it's a fair bit more wedge but I think it will really give you that one and done WOW factor that you're looking for. It takes you out of the budget but if you got the build above with the 4070Ti and the monitor suggested, it would be a fantastic pairing.

You could save £100 by transferring the license from your current system? That's not to be sniffed at.
