right ok, so i just played the first mission in the train @1080p maximum settings (16xAF, 4xAA, Ultra Settings) and the results are all good

I use VSync so the majority of the time it was displaying 60fps, the lowest it went was to about 40fps but 90% of the time it was 50+

That's interesting, as this review of the 560ti 448 core, compares the the 560 ti, 560ti 448 core and the 570 in bf3, and says 570 max fps of 37 @1920x1200.

What resolution are ya playing at?

You seem to be comparing different levels, I haven't played Bf3 but I would assume the level mentioned in the review - operation swordbreaker - is the slowest in the game. I'm also not sure if the 37 figure is an average or the lowest recorded.

Its very good for A GTX 570 , id be pleased , but you really need to go out of the hummer to meet the guys & go do the mission where you have to drag team m8 out of the way & kill the rpg guys & some missions later in the game , but when it dropped to 40fps did you notice the difference at 40 fps vs the 60fps ? , if so you can in fact tell the difference between low & high fps - its just that you may be more used to seeing lower fps more than high fps ?

& with it jumping from 40 to 60 then to 50fps , this is why a lot of gamers try to get5 the highest fps they can (in benchmarks with no v-sync) so that when they v-synch it it will have a better chance of staying at 60fps at all times without the dips (eg , no vsynch - between 60 & 70fps , chances are when v-sync is enabled the fps will dip at points , but say with 100- 130 fps , not much chance of dips when v-sync is enabled , dont know what i get with no v-synch , havent tried , but i get 60fps at all times v-synch enabled.

Update just tried it with no v - sync , 4x AA, 16x AF - all other settings max ( on operation swordbreaker - not counting cutsceene as this is just video anyway , not in game)

Inside hummer = MAX 98fps , MIN 82fps.
Exiting Hummer (looking around every where) = MAX 88fps MIN 79fps
Main mission from start to finish = MAX 196 fps MIN 79 fps (big fps spikes in certain places when the action has died down a little)

Whole thing , complete mission MAX = 196fps MIN 79fps

& again with v-sync enabled 60fps solid at all times .

Hardware ;
CPU - i5 2500k (stock)
GPUs 2X GTX 580 SLI (3gb models)
Ram - 8gb 1600mhz (xmp)
PSU - corsair 1,200w 80+ gold modular
Driver version 296.10
Max GPU temp (no v-sync) = 79c ( v-sync enabled 68c)

Pretty pleased with this , didn realize i was capable of peaking at 196fps in this game with everything maxed out

lol i tested too, was always between 90 - 120, sometimes dipped 85 for a second or so, or jumped to 130+

temps were low bout 65ish, cause I up the fan speed.

The hummer is directly after the train bit ( they are sitting in the back of it listening to johnny cash) , then they step out - the mission is operation swordbreaker ( i benched the whole mission from start to finish , not counting the cutsceene before that as its just video & not 3d graphics )

its very good for A gtx 570 i would say - now just for giggles , turn everything down to low or medium & play same mission at 60fps at all times ( forget about what it looks like) & just see if you can notice visual & gameplay smoothness as opposed to the current set up ( although if using keyboard & mouse it could still be a bit rough in turning as soooo many pc games seem to be these days , must be due to console porting never used to be this way - use a 360 controller if you have it , lots smoother ( but not as accurate as a kb/mouse , clear that up before it starts - lol)

I prefer kb/mouse for precision & extra buttons - but if its making my game rough as hell when turning , then whats the point of high lvls of fps ? ( just my personal thing , wherever possible i use kb/mouse , but its becoming very hard to find a game that turns as smoothly on the mouse as on the pad - dead space 2 was the last one i can remember)

Maybe i just need to invest in a better mouse ? dont know really as i was going to buy a real expensive gaming mouse , but then read lots of forum posts with gamers with very good gaming mice still having the issue with most games , so when shoving the pad in & all issues gone , it tells me they are more desighned with pad in mind & then the mouse is emulated for the pc version , whereas back along it was the other way around & games were always smooth on the mouse.

i cant notice any difference between 30 and 60, only if there is a huge sudden drop from 60 to 30 but if it goes down slowly i wont notice it

Yes it different for everyone , but your better off TBH , you dont need to keep upgrading & spending cash constantly to get 60fps.

yes, well i built my PC to take another 570 too so I always have that if i do need to upgrade

Yes you could always sli in the future - but be carefull if you catch the 60 fps bug you cant cure it with any medicine , very addictive - lol

lol i think it would be more of a cold turkey kind of treatment :p

I get 60fps most of the time i think on bf3 and most other games i definitely get 60fps, and i sees no difference

yes definately a cold turkey treatment & im avoiding it for as long as i can ( probably why i dont play my consoles much , unless its a 60fps game , not may of them on console though)
