I'm new to this and still learning the terminology and how these things work. I think I'm pretty happy with my CPU, motherboard and ram (although I might up it to 64).
This is what I have so far.
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 20-Core Processor i7-14700F (Up to 5.4GHz) 33MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI (LGA1700, DDR5, PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 6E)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (1 x 32GB)
Graphics Card
16GB ASUS PROART GEFORCE RTX 4080 SUPER - HDMI, 3 x DP
1st M.2 SSD Drive
4TB CORSAIR MP600 PRO NH NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6500 MB/W)
My concerns are:
1. How to choose a cooling processor I was looking at "PCS FrostFlow 150 Series High Performance CPU Cooler" and 4 x 120mm case fans. But honestly I have no idea if that's appropriate for this build. I guess it's better to have more cooling than you need than not enough. Any advice on this is appreciated.
2. The power supply, im looking at the "CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ - MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET" but again I'm not sure if that's sufficient or overkill. What's the best way to work this out? Just Google the wattage of all the individual parts and add it up?
3. The graphics card. I've went for what I think is the best one I can afford. But I don't know much about building computers and not sure if the graphics card is overkill compared to the other parts, do all graphics cards work regardless of the other parts? Also I was contemplating using my TV instead of a traditional computer monitor, the TV is 2160p (4K), 120hz. How much of a difference will using the TV make?
Thanks in advance for any help.
