I get they have a huge backlog.... but this speed approach is only going to end up with a lot of exceedingly unhappy and irrate customers.

I feel your pain but please refrain from swearing, this is a family friendly forum :)

....We have a different idea of what constitutes a swear word...but fair enough, I editted my post to accurately reflect my meaning without referring to urine

If you would be happy with a child saying it then we definitely have very different ideas. If any of my children said that to me I wouldn't be best pleased. This tends to be my yard stick for profanity on a family friendly forum.

AS I said, fair enough... and a child under 10, i'd agree....not so much once they hit 13 (in which case if that was the worst they said i'd be pleased lol)

I hope my re=wordings are acceptable, but still convey the annoyance and anger or dealing with such a mess...

Okay, so I have never removed thermal paste in my life so not fully aware of the process but I was under the impression that you needed some form of Isopropylol (or whatever it's called) alcohol to fully remove the paste residue before applying the new paste no? Can it really be as simple as " To remove the old paste, you would only need to wipe it off with a kitchen tissue." as the OP was advised?
Yes, it’s best to use isopropyl alcohol as it dries almost instantly and doesn’t leave a residue.

Yeah, wiping it off with tissue paper isnt exactly professional.... alcohol based solvent is best, cotton wool buds or something and very carefully clean it.

Im feeling this guys pain too atm, I had to deal with the wiring job done on mine which was an absolute mess.
Took me 2 hours to put 2 SSD's due to how its been done, they GLUED the RGB and commander pro units to the case and where they put the commander pro they used one of the SSD bays (rather than the huge amounts of free space that it could of happily sat in in the front)
and fitted it so it was tied to a spare SSD cradle and blocked the 2nd SSD from also being used.
When I write my full review up i've got pictures of all of this....absolutely ridiculous that I would have to spend hours trying to unpick the mess, and for something as simple as adding a SSD in.

You can tell the whole thing was rushed, no care taken at all in how the excess wires were dealt with, just tied the whole thing up round the back out of view.
I wouldn’t mess around with that, I’d just send it back.

I would too, but having waited this long for it to be built I also understand why the OP is reluctant to have to wait another couple of weeks for PCS, to fix it.

The OP sounds.pretty capabable and all he's asking for I think is some assurance that if he starts the job and hits an unforseen snag, that PCS will take it back and complete the job. That's a reasonable request I think.

In my opinion, and I don't work for PCS, I don't think there would be a problem as long as the OP hasn't damaged anything. I understand why he wants confirmation of that though.

Thanks for the input everyone...

Here's an update.

Good morning Paul,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you would still be able to send us back the system, nonetheless if you don´t feel comfortable doing this, it´ll be better to send us back the system to reinstall the cooling system properly.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Kind regards

My reply was this: Tue 28/07/2020 01:02

''I will attempt to correct the fault but if I can't I will be sending it back to you with the proviso that I will proceed if things aren't deemed by me as being satisfactory, with a request for a full refund.''

And this is 'hopefully' my last:

Good morning,

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please confirm your delivery address so I can send you the Thermal paste?

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Kind regards

My reply 'which may surprise some'

''I thought it quicker to order from Amazon so got the paste next day delivery, I also had a bottle of CPU cleaner from a build I did back in 2012. I have successfully relocated the cooling head by turning it 180 degrees. I did it this morning and ran a benchmark test and all seems to be OK. I think that your assembler may have assembled it the way he did for aesthetic reasons as it now looks less tidy and the pipes now hang down and over the graphics card.

Please be aware that I was not impressed with what has happened at all (Also took over a Month to be delivered) and what has passed between us, but ‘like a glutton for punishment’ and a surprise to you perhaps, I will probably go to PCSpecialist for my next PC build.

So take care ********. I hope that PCSPECIALIST has learned something from this, especially the fact that your customers shouldn’t have any problem upgrading their system with memory by themselves.

Yours sincerely, **** *******
