So yes, the fan speed is completely normal out of the box

Gaming noise levels are way too high, too. With 42 dBA, they rival what AMD tried to sell us as "quiet" a while ago, but AMD has learned since and the 6800 Series is really quiet. "

So yes, MSI Afterburner would be a good way to set a custom fan curve.
OK, so a base rpm of around 1200rpm is completely normal for this card out of the box. Well it's good to know there is no hardware issue (I know you said that earlier, just some of the other comments seemed to challenge that).
So I take it my drivers do not need to reinstalled. Again, good to know.
In theory I could then leave it to it's factory settings and there would be no problems? (apart from being a bit noisy).
Guess I need to learn how MSI afterburner fan curves work.
You absolutely can leave it as it is and it'll be fine. I would say, purely for education and understanding, it's completely worthwhile having a go with Afterburner. It's one of these things that I think most should spend some time doing

I assumed all 30 series cards had zero rpm capability. I guess not. I'd be a bit miffed to find I got one of the few cards that didn't. Increased acoustics and power draw for no reason.
Well I emailed them and got told basically, and massively paraphrasing - 'tough look, we only have the zotac, it's not our problem'.
OK, they said it way more politely than that, but that was the gist.
The PC is great, everything snappy and quick, but the constant hum when watching YouTube or whatever is a bit annoying.
I've learnt a lesson here, if I ever buy from PCS again, I will definitely buy my own GPU.
I can still return it due to distance selling regulations, so that is an option. As they only stock Zotac at the minute I have asked if they will refund the GPU on return of said GPU. They haven't replied yet. But I know the answer. And you know, my email was not as polite as theirs, I did stop short of profanities, it was difficult.
Anyway, a great PC for me with a bad hum. On the other hand, my daughter is loving using my old PC, the GTX 1060 is doing her proud.

That is what you agree to when you order, it's outlined in the terms and conditions:

So I've had this PC for 1 week.
I got the RTX 3060ti with no fan stop, I made a thread about this. I'm hoping to get it upgraded.
But now it seems it isn't even working!
It crashes on a few games I play: NMS - it plays but crashes a lot, RDR2 will freeze as soon as game loads. Shadow of Tomb Raider will not play. Only game that will is Age Of Empires 4.
I did nvidia clean install, no joy.
I looked up a tutorial on DDU, did that, reinstalled drivers, no joy.
'User benchmark' reported '137% is an outstanding 3D score, it's the bee's knees. This GPU can handle almost all 3D games at very high resolutions and ultra detail levels.'?
mxdiag reports no problems. Not sure what to do.

if you only had it a week and you are not happy, I would call pcs I would let them take a look with remote access, and then maybe back for RMA to get it sorted. My pc was back with them three times and now very happy with it, after advice and help from here as well.
They really do give good service with getting things sorted when sent back.
I would just call them to say you are not happy with it, they will take it back and correct the issue. Mine started with a game crashing and it needed a new CPU , and motherboard in the end. You can just get faulty things from new.
There is a chance it may not be a component but if not happy just call and get support and start the process of getting it sorted.

A bit of googling leads to a range of possible causes/fixes, including a potential faulty card. I think it would be good to contact PCS now and raise it with them, while you're still within the 14 day cooling off period.

I had a similar experience with a custom-built PC lately. The GPU ran fine for a week, then games would crash, artifact, or BSOD with the same error you mentioned. It turned out that the GPU was faulty and after sending it back to them, they replaced it and it's been working perfectly every since.
As you're still under warranty, I'd strongly recommend contacting PCSpecialist. They'll usually go through possible fixes over the phone (if calling), otherwise you could set up an RMA for them to give it a proper look with testing. From my experience, RMA's with PCSpecialist have always been a very positive and fast experience.

OK, so I called them, they got me to test the RAM, but they were ok. They then said the GPU was broke!
I'm sending the card back as faulty, they will refund me, then I can buy another GPU from them, which means I can upgrade from the Zotac (with no fan stop!), which was something I was considering anyway. So hopefully everything will be sorted soon. Only downfall is I have to pay postage to return (it would be free if I had sent the whole system). I'm glad I got the i5-12400 instead of i5-12400F, because I can carry on with iGPU for a few days.

Ok, so I first thought it was the gpu with no fan stop that was making my PC loud at idle. That cost me another £100 to change it to a 3070 with fan stop. But still loud when idling.
I then thought it must be the 2 big 200mm fans, but I unplugged them and the noise remained.
So it must be the cpu cooler fans. I opted (and was advised) for the PCS frostflow 150. I have tried to lower the speed but the lowest is 600 and it's still loud. I don't think it is defective, I just think it's a bit crap, my thermals are fine, but It's like having a hair dryer next to you when watching youtube! Should I buy a better cooler, or is it supposed to be loud?

I'm comfortable working inside a PC apart from messing around with cpu and cooler, I mean, I will install ram, graphics cards and hard drives and stuff, but I'm a bit nervous when it comes to cpu and thermal paste and how tight to fit the fan and what not.
PCS want 70 quid if want them to change it (that's just delivery).
Thinking I might buy my own and get a local shop to do the labour.
Any advice would be welcome. Should I just get used to it? What is a good, quiet cooler?
