Well there is an M2 drive so I presume it's connected to that? Also I've followed the wire for this and it doesn't connect to the cooler at any point so.preusmmably can't be that

Yes one is around 600 the other at about 2000. To be honest though if that's it running full speed I'd want another cooler as it's far far too loud

M2 doesn't have a fan though does it? It must be the micro board.
I would personally move that over the CH_Fan header.
So iCue is picking up the fan but not changing the speed?
I've only used AI suite and now L Connect 2 software for my fans.
Would AI suite work with this cooler being on the X570 MB? That you can run a auto tune. Or can you change it in the BIOS.
I had a fan in my M.2 header when it came, for me it was the rear fan on the 011D XL case.

I've tried multiple different software programs to change the speed. About 6, I forget the names of the all. The ones PC Specialist recommends, Icue and also some I found from googling it and people having issues with the motherboard and fans. It doesn't change in the BIOS either, I change it to every different setting but makes no difference
Does iCue change the other fan speeds?

Yes, I can change the one no problem but not the other. It must be a faulty part but it's very annoying as anyone who has turned it on would have heard straight away how noisy it was.
Weird how the fan works but can't be changed but the other is fine.
A loose connection you would think the fan won't work at all, not really familiar with the cooler but looking at the pictures of all the bits you get with it, can you see any wires on the actual fans themselves or where they connect to pump? maybe something has just slightly come loose.
One the set up manual it says,
Connect each fan to the shrouded 4 pin connectors on the pump (figure 2).

Does the RGB work on the fan? can you change the colours?

It worked!!! I found the manual last night and tried again this morning. It was the 4 pin connectors at the back. I had to cut through a few cable ties to get to it which is why I couldn't see it. Both of them were a bit loose. No idea why that would make it run so fast as opposed to not running at all but it did the job.
Thanks so much for all your help guys, Martin, Spydertracks, Scott and Scarpa, especially into the small hours of the morning! A night's sleep and another try was obviously the thing needed most!

serious kudos for your perseverance also, when cable management is factored in, this kind of investigation can be pretty daunting, really pleased you got it sorted!

Thanks guys, suppose it does make sense in a way and it is very daunting. Just hoping nothing else goes wrong, I don't like to even brush my hand last pc parts normally! Haha
Think of it as good practise too mate, the only way to get comfortable with electronics is to get in there and start unplugging/plugging and moving things around
It's not as delicate as it might seem and most of it has a logic to it that's almost self explanatory once you start to get a grasp on the terminology
Be careful though you may catch the tinkering bug that's terminal once you're infected. You'll feel the urge to constantly take things apart and "upgrade" them

The most likely thing is that it wasn't detecting the PWM signal properly, so it defaulted to DC mode: on a PWM fan that will I think mean full speed.Always good information to know, glad you got it sorted.
If you think about it, it makes sense. If the system can't control the fan speed and it's classed as a failure, it's better to be safe and run full bore than it is to switch off or slow down
