my pc which i bought 9 months ago and was working great until yesterday suddenly lost internet connection, was working fine until i alt tabbed from a game to check something and then no web pages would load and then the game disconnected, nothing worked until i restarted pc and was fine until again today.played a game for a couple of hours, came back after dinner and pc had no internet. i've tried a new ethernet cable to see if that was the problem but still no internet, everything is working fine on my main pc both are plugged into same router.

spoke to a pcs guy on Thursday and we deleted Lan driver and replaced with a updated version.worked all day friday and most of today but internet has now gone off again, only way to get it back on is to restart the pc,is this likely software related or hardware? i cant ring pcs now as they're closed for the weekend.

Have you checked and applied optional updates? Obviously you'd need network to do that, you can either connect via LAN cable temporarily, or go into device manager, delete the wireless adapter and reboot which should reinstall it.

The pc is connected by a Lan cable,i have 2 pc's plugged into the same router, this pc(old pc) works perfectly and doesn't drop internet.my new pc is the one dropping internet connection.i've tried different ethernet cables including swapping the one that works from this pc but still the connection drops and the only fix is to restart the pc.It started 3 nights ago and after first disconnect there was a windows update applied.

So if you delete the LAN in device manager and reboot that should reinstall it.

then once your connected make sure to apply all optional updates, separate to the windows update section

What browser are you using?
What AV are you using?
Have you got a VPN installed?

So yes, if you delete the LAN driver in device manager and reboot that should reinstall it

You won't have any any optional updates currently because you can't connect to the internet.

You'd need to properly uninstall avast using the official uninstaller (won't work from windows). You don't need any 3rd party AV, windows defender is far better anyway, most including Avast are nothing more than malware these days and actually kill your system.
